Does any one have Magne Shades? Trying to decide which new shades to go with, as I do not care for the current inside mount I have now. We face the setting sun (enough said) Hoping someone has some personal info one this magnetic system. Thanks!

We are on our second set. (Traded in the first MH we had them installed on) I really like them. Once the magnets are installed it's up or down in seconds.

Even though our new motor home has the electric inside shades we still purchased a set of Magne Shades. The heat can really build up between the glass and the inside shade, some of which will escape into the living area, not to mention the damage, over time, to the dash and trim in that area. I'm attaching a photo of our new set, taken immediately after installation, that I got from the Magne Shade site.

Not cheap, but well worth the cost.

PS: They now will make you a set of wheel covers too. Also expensive, but again take only seconds to install or remove, without any laying on the ground to secure them. As we expect to own this rig for at least 10 years I felt them to be a good investment.

Take a look at mine. Fairly easy to install. Just be careful of the magnets. They are really strong. I got yelled at when 2 came together and caused a blood blister on my Sweethearts finger. A great outfit to work with.

I think a windshield cover, in a solid color, is $395. The patterns are more. Ours is a palm tree pattern that was an extra $50. We also got matching front side and door window covers. Those too are all extra.

The workmanship is unbelievable. The pattern on the magnet pockets matches up with the pattern on the cover exactly.

Jay can you tell me how visable looking thru the palm tree pattern is to the outside ? I also have a light colored coach but do not want to use black for the shades. I have samples up on the window and you definatley can see thru the black better. Please give me any input .

Dennis, they have a number of pictures that can be used. Quite a few are on the website.
I don't know about the Palm Trees but seeing out thru mine is no problem at all.

Lots of threads on here about Magne Shades. Tried to find the one that convinced me to go with Magne Shades. You can also find several videos on youtube. Every comment I've ever heard is positive.

Pricey but goes up and down with little to no effort. Blocks the sun from the outside thereby not allowing the sun to heat up 30+ square feet of windshield glass. Well worth the price in my book.

You've got a design on black screen ?

Roger and Clare Hunckler are just fantastic people to work with as people and as a company. As them about the windshiled wiper overs, and mirror covers when you order your screen. The dark screen is the most protective against UV Rays, and the designer srreens will be less so. They are all the typical "see out, not in" scrrens.

I purchased the the Magne Shade screens for the front and side windows. Installation was easy, but it does require two people the very first time setting them up. One person on the inside will put a magnet up next to the window where a pocket on the outside is located. The outside magnet and inside magnet will click together through the windshield/window. As stated, these are powerful magnets. I asked my wife to hold one in each hand and not to get them close together. She was on the inside. She needed one hand to balance herself on the driver's side window and went to put the magnet in that hand into the other hand. Think blood blister. Now think name calling. (lol - not my finger, well, not then.) Once they are all in place, it is a single person operation to mark where the inside magnet is, pull off the 3m backing and stick the magnet to the windshield. It takes me longer to get the screens out of the nice provided carry bag then it does to put them up on the windshield.

I highly recommend Magne-Shade from Hunckler Fabrication. The quality is superb.

(S)Dennis, when you come back to the area I can give you a demonstration if you like.

You can see through it. It's nothing like looking through a window screen of course. I prefer clear glass and will only use it if facing south (the sun is directly on the windshield for a significant portion of the day), but that would be true no matter what kind of screen I had. I love the quick installation and removal, expecially as I watch others struggle trying to get theirs up and down.
