Hey guys:

I wonder if anyone would know where on a 2008 Essex 4508 the inverter remote control would be? Or even if I have one.

I don't think it's charging the batteries enough.

thanks, Bill

The Essex doesn't use the remote control. It's programed with the E-Plex. Make sure it is on. push the charger button and it will show on,standby, or what part of charging it is in at the time. I believe if you hold the charge button down for 10 seconds it will bring up a menu to set it for the type of batteries you have.

007, Thanks for all the links. But, I don't have the model E-Plex shown in your link. I must have the next older version. You have anything on that?

Perry White (aren't you Superman's boss?), Thanks, I'll go out to the rig tomorrow and see if I can find some more info. I forgot the E-Plex should control the inverter/charger.

I really appreciate all the help available on this forum.

Bill

eplex controls all charger/inverter options on your rig. To set the inverter "options" like battery bank size, charge rate, and cut out/in voltages press and hold PREFS for about 5 secs and the setup options screen will come up. Scroll up and down to set what you want. You really should not have to change anything though.

Newmar typically sets the CHARGE AMPS to 80%(to reduce charger heating) and at one time highly recommend using the LEAD ACID setting even if you have AGM (the charge curves are nearly identical in the eplex internal control logic). I think I saw a post on irv2 explaining this reasoning.
