Maiden voyage

First time out in our new Baystar and first time in a class A coach. What a way to "rough it"! We didn't have many initial problems that couldn't be fixed with a screw driver or a pliers, but just a few odds and ends for the punch list. All in all, the coach has exceeded our expectations. Here's a few pics of the site and Roscoe and Max after a hard day of chasing squirrels.

Beautiful coach! Your pups look like they're enjoying the Bay Star too.

We've loved our Georgetown for the four years we've owned it. Unfortunately, it's become time to pack it in. Increasing costs and older age infirmities are making it too much of a hassle.

We have a 14 Bay Star 3103, as well. It is a great floor plan. Keep an eye on where the gas strut is screwed into the underside of the dining table. Newmar used really small, short screws. I had to replace ours with larger ones. It is a great coach! Hope you enjoy it.

That was the first thing I had to repair. While pushing the table in, the screws let go. The table was real easy to move after that. I took the screws that came with it to Lowes and got the next size up #10 (don't quote me on that), and 1/4" longer.

By the way, On the bedroom slide, do you have any problems reaching the slide lock on the back side (rear of the coach)? I can reach the front lock with no problem, but I can't even get my hand back there on the rear one. During the delivery demo, the said that as long as one of the locks are engaged, it shouldn't be a problem, but I don't trust them.

To be honest, I never knew there was a lock on the rear slide as it is so small compared to the other one, but I just went out and darned if they're not there. The front one (rear slide) is not too bad to get to, and the rear one is accessible if you get up on the bed, duck your head a little and stand with your right foot on the bedside table, and then reach over the rear window valance, assuming you do have the rear window option. Sounds complicated, but if you get your right foot on that table, it's really not that hard to reach from the top.

You should have a tool like this to lock the locking bars of your slides.
The bedroom slide will have two locks as your LR slide will.
The LR slide is easy to operate the locks by hand but bedroom takes some strength because of tight quarters.
Locking just the front bedroom lock will be OK because the bed platform is stable on floor.
Placing your foot on small night table will possibly eventually brake the table from the slide fascia frame, advise not to.
The locking tool:

So...that's what that piece is for! Saw that in the BR closet space and wondered what it was for. I must admit, when they did the walkaround of the coach when we picked it up, I didn't catch that. We were in kind of a hurry to get out of there and on the road. (I'll post that story later). Thanks, that should make it a lot easier!
