Making The New Aire 3341 & Other RV's Bath Sinks Usable - Mike Mas

Hello all - a common problem with smaller RV’s is a small bathroom and a small sink which makes simple tasks like washing or shaving a nightmare with water over the entire area. Such is the case in Newmar’s New Aire 3341. While the New Aire's bathroom has ample room, the problem is its equipped with a small sink. Compounding the problem further, is the fact Newmar put an “Overly Large” household faucet on this small sink making it almost impossible to use.

Anyhow, this short article deals with correcting this problem. While this worked extremely well for my New Aire, this same “Fix” will work equally well on many motorhomes with this same problem. Please click on the link below for my article.

Enjoy - Mike

Interesting - I didn’t realize how different that sink was from the 3343:

Went to Home Depot yesterday and for $89.95 I fixed my bathroom sink, thanks to da man, Mike Mas. This is a great and easy modification that will pay loads of dividends down the road. The sink is now usable! Imagine that.
The old sink faucet was just flat wrong but now the new one is 100% usable. The old faucet arm was so big, covered half the sink, would not move and the result was water went everywhere.
But now, with the swivel arm, its swivels out of the way and things are as they should be. Thank you Mike for this idea and doing the home work. Mine not only looks great, it works great. It's the little things.

Glad it worked out for you - before the fix my sink was unusable. Lets hope aside from a facet change Newmar improves the bath to include a larger sink.

Lol, ok I’ll try not to spoil your experience. I certainly won’t show the outdoor TV at eye level.

This is what I like about this forum. I have a ton of ideas of things I want to change on any coach that fits my needs better. It's nice that others come up with great ideas that I never thought of. Identifying the parts and providing pictures really helps.

This sink upgrade may have more applications than just the New Air. Any small sink may benefit from the smaller faucet. I know that there is not a lot of activity in the 4018 half bath sink in our coach. I think I've used it a couple of times in four years. It's easier to exit the bathroom and use the kitchen sink.

Ditto. I can’t use that small half bath sink either. And mine is a vessel sink which designers love, but me, not so much.

I did take a short trip and it was so nice not having to run to the kitchen sink to shave and brush!

The faucet thing is something that bothers the heck out of you while on trips, then as soon as you get home you forget until the next trip.

On my previous trip I made a promise to myself that the coach stays parked until I change the goofy faucet and most important move the Allison transmission shifter in front of me instead of behind me like Newmar placed it.

For those interested here's a link to my shifter mod:

Yeah, that's another goofy placement. Your setup is much better for the transmission controls.
