I'll bet they were less than the 22 bucks each that Newmar gets for the plastic ones too.

And the Newmar ones don't work. They don't fit into the roller groove on '07'KSDP. Big waste of money. I had an old desk chair mat, with beveled edges that I cut into strips. Works much better.

Make me an offer on my 3 Newmar mats...

I've retrofitted my '06 DSDP with slots in the ramp to use the Newmar version but have had to re-bend broken ones. I plan to shim the 5 slots to make them raise the rollers over the top of the corner of the guards before they make contact. I've also re-backed them with sticky backing to hopefully stop them from sliding outward when the slides are deployed.

That being said...I really like what you did and if my mods don't fix the problem...I'm going to steal your idea!

Can you post a picture of the edge that goes under the slide? Is it bent to hold onto the edge of the tile?

I folded a 3/8" flange 90 degrees down which slips easily into the gap between the tile and wood floor of the slide. If you look close you can see I folded the other 3 sides all the way over and smashed flat so the edges are not sharp and it also reinforces the the edges to make the protector stronger. I used spray glue to attach the felt on the bottom side.

DavidD- these really slick- can you give me the width & length you made them? Also, did you crop the corners on the 3/8" lip you bent down 90 degrees?

I'm going to make set for our coach.

Thanks

Tin Man,
How does the weight compare to the factory protectors?

Capt. Bill,
On the 90 degree 3/8" bend I did cut the corners back at a 45 degree angle. I used the set several times with no felt and they worked great but, after I installed the felt the extra cusion caused them to curl when the rollers came off. I made them again and left the felt off and they are working fine, I will now be using them on my new 2015 Dutch Star. They are 11 1/2" wide X 29" long.
