Driving back home last night with our MADP (330HP ISC & Allison
MD3060) and all of a sudden the yellow service engine comes on and a
few seconds later the red "STOP" light comes on. The tranny shifts
down, slows down and stops.

The MH has a full banks system that was installed at the factory and
I am towing a Honda CRV and going between 72-78mph. In the past the
RV was driven at speeds above 75-80 mph with no problems.

Engine temp, Tranny temp, oil pressure, air pressure, belts, coolant,
air filter (new) and fuel filters (recent) were all normal. Fuel tank
was half full. The silverleaf software showed NO Codes. The Tranny
showed No Codes either.

The only difference last night was that I had added a lot of a
synthetic injection cleaner that I bought from Cummins for diesel
engines and I filled up with the new Low Sulphur Diesel.

After a few minutes I started the MH and it ran fine after that all
the way home (150miles) but I kept the speed between 50-65mph.

I am worried that this may happen again, so I called Allison &
Cummins both said that if no Codes are shown, they may not be able to
pinpoint teh problem. I am thinking a faulty oil pressure sensor
maybe?

Any ideas or comments would be much appreciated.

Hi!

For what its worth...

2 years ago our Revolution did the same thing.Went to Freightliner on a hook. After a few days of searching they determined it was the main breaker. It started as an intermitent problem and then just stopped altogether. Maybe?

Streff,

Might want to reconsider the speed you travel at. Your tires are only rated for a max of 75 mph on a "Standard Day" (59 deg F). A blow out at that speed is pretty spectacular.

While vapor lock is not common on diesels it is a possibility but shouldn't have given you a STop light. The failure of the fuel to bypass the pump/injectors and return to the tank can cause the Check Engine/Service Engine warning.

i would change the fuel filters. i put some stuff in my fuel tank and it clogged the fuel filters. i saw the increased restriction on my filters before the fuel was blocked completely.

I used to have a car that did the same thing - ended up being a problem with the computer....
