Michelin 305/70R 22.5 Tire Replacement

I must get a tire to replace steer tire that has a sidewall bubble. Michelin dealet quoted a $670.00/tire out the door (installed, balanced, Etc.) I plan on replacing both steer tires and keeping the good one for a spare. According to the local dealer the failed tire will be sent to Michelin for failure cause and determination if warranty applies.

Anyone have experience with Michelin covering sidewall separation under warranty. Tire is 53 months in service with 46 K miles and about 75% of tread remaining. I know it would be pro rated if anything is covered.

That sounds a little steep for the tire. Recently had (2) 255/80R 22.5's put on for $521 each. Wouldn't think the 305's would be $150 more. Good luck with Michelin on the warranty issue, from what I've heard, they are tough.

Michelin provided me with warranty coverage and discounted the tire price by 60% (remaining tread %) I sent an email initially to Michelin customer service received a reply within 24 hrs with instructions for Tire Center to follow. After a discussion between the tire center and Michelin rep the warranty adjustment was made.
I could not ask for a better resolution.
