Mid coach speakers

Working on upgrading my indash radio. I have completed the wiring. Everything is perfect except the mid-coach speakers are not working. Both the old and new units have 4 pairs of speaker wire outputs. The front speakers over the driver and passenger side work great and the rear speakers in the bedroom are working. Those 4 speakers respond to the left and right, front and rear controls. Do the mid coach speakers only work off the amp? The Jensen unit that I purchased did not have an amp trigger wire so I installed a third party switch that triggers the amp signal by monitoring a speaker wire. Any ideas about what I may have missed?

Mid coach speakers

On our 1999MADP the kitchen speakers only work from the Sony Unit in the overhead cabinet as the rear speakers in a 5.1 configuration and/or the b switched speakers (fronts are a relative to the cabinet stereo. Behind our dash is an ignition triggered solenoid that allows the front speakers to be shared between the dash and cabinet stereo. Ours came that way from the factory. What we do (through a whole house inverter added later) is iPhone Bluetooth to a dongle rx wired as an input to the cabinet stereo. We pulled the fuse that controls the solenoid and dont use the dash radio while driving but rather 5.1 speakers going down the road. There are many options and this works for us. The sub gets its signal (by pass through) from the cabinet 2 front outputs prior to the solenoid so it never worked with the dash radio. Hopefully you find a solution.

On ours, the CD changer, VCR and front TV all played through the dash head unit. My plan is to run the new DVD player and TV through a separate sound system run through my home theatre receiver.

I suspect that the problem is at the amp. It is just really tough to get to in the front cabinet. Apparently, Newmar builds the cabinets around the components stored therein. So, I have to take cabinets apart to get to anything. :-(

I figured out the issues. First, the aux output for the head unit goes to the amp. Second, the amp 12v lead was dead. Ran a new lead to it and everything fired right up. I suspect that there is fuse out somewhere on the original lead, but I was unable to find it. So, I just ran a new 12v constant lead with a 25 amp inline fuse. Fuse is in the front dash panel fuse box area so I will know where to find it from now on. :-)

Bottom line is that the mid coach speakers are powered directly by the amp along with the sub woofer.
