Mid ship tv replacement?

Hi all.
I'm looking to replace the stock non smart 40" Sony tv with a slightly larger 43" lg smart tv with 4 hdmi inputs, v 2 on the Sony. It looks pretty straight forward. except how to remove and replace power plug? The current plug disappears into a hole on top of the dry bar. We have the fireplace in lieu of lower cabinets. I hope I don't have to dismantle the cabinet and fireplace to plug in the new unit.
Wondering How have others handled this?
TIA Milo

Maybe your existing plug will work if you replace Sony with Sony? It should just unplug from the back of the existing TV.

Thanks, but I already checked for that. The 40" Sony has a fixed permanent plug. not removable from back of tv. I guess I could cut both plugs and use butt plug connectors to reconnect the plugs, but hoping to avoid that.

I haven't seen a TV with a non removable plug in years. Seems very strange that yours is hard wired.

Just cut the cord and splice it nicely , use shrink tubing.
