Any ideas on what would cause very low heat output on the dash unit? Where does that heat come from? Is is it based on water piped from the engine bay like a car? or heat pump based on the AC unit? or strip heat? You can tell I don't have any experience with this type of unit. Any help or background you can give me will help. I searched the archives but obviously didn't use the right search words.

Thanks

Welcome Bikeboy57 to irv2 and the Newmar forum.
Your DP must have a water pump to pump the hot water from engine to your heater which maybe a Evans unit. Most people complain about not getting cold air out of their unit and the control valve is most all ways the problem which would allow hot water into the heater portion of AC/Heater unit. You may have the same problem but in reverse the same valve is blocking the hot water into your unit.
The valve can be seen where the hoses connect on back side of heater unit on passenger side on fire wall. If someone operates the heater control while you look at unit you should see the valve open and close. The control may not move the valve enough and may need some adjustment or valve may have to be replaced.
Someone may have some thing to add so stay tuned.
Enjoy the forums and congrats with your Newmar.
