Mirror or No Mirror 4369 DS on order

We have a 4369 DS on order...trying to decide if we want the mirror by the kitchen sink area or not. If not: wall board or wood like what is on the wall opposite by the dinette. I think I like the wood wall over wall board. Wife worries that wood may get wet by the sink. Just not sure I want to look at that mirror all the time. I realize it may give some more light. Thoughts, opinions anyone?

We ordered our 2017 without the mirror by the sink and also the full length mirror in the bedroom. We didn't care for all that glass on the walls.

We have no problem with water splashing on the wall.
We're going to install a small full length mirror in the back bathroom.

There are pros and cons. The mirror "opens up" the coach - there's lots of wood already in those DSDPs and the mirrors help breaking that up. I'm sure that's why Newmar installs them. All that wood can be a little too much (for some folks, like us).

The downside is the way Newmar installs the mirror (esp. the one in the kitchen. Ours almost fell off, and there are plenty of owners who had that actually happen. I noticed that ours was lose just in time. Newmar uses double sided tape to attach the mirror - with all the twisting when going down the road, it is easy to see how the mirror will fail. I used silicon glue to reattach it and it is now rock solid.

When we were shopping for our new coach we went in a new DS and the mirror in the kitchen was in pieces. Salesman told us the mirror cracked on it's way from the factory due to coach "flexing" on the rough highway. For what it's worth....

We left the kitchen mirror and went with a 1/2 and 1/2 for the bedroom mirror. Similar to what is in the higher end coaches.

We like the mirrors

We like the mirrors in both places. I don't think I'd like them as well if they weren't darkened. They make the space seem bigger and lighter. I love the wood (ours is the Carmel glazed cherry which is beautiful) but agree with the other poster that there is already plenty of wood without having it in those two places. Water does get splashed on the one by the sink and it's great having the full length one in the bedroom. Slides come in right by them so you probably wouldn't be able to put artwork on the wall so it might look bare with just wood.

Wood is a bad idea. Your DW is correct it will get water stains on it, and worse it will be near the stove top and you are bound to get grease that pops and now you have a bad stain. Mirror of ceamic tile is your best choice.

The stove top on a 4369 is about 4 ft. If you get grease on that wall you will have a big problem. The wood will not be bare. It will have stain and a finish. No different than the wood from the accent light box which is closer to the sink.

We deleted the mirror by the sink in kitchen as I personally thought it would be a nightmare to keep clean being so close to the sink. We went with wood instead.
