Momentary Power Loss?

I was cruising down the freeway today. Cruise control on, 60mph. Everything looking good. Plenty of fuel, DEF, etc.

Suddenly, simultaneously, the cruise control disengaged and a warning beep came from the dash. I looked down and every warning light was on.

Before I could take in the situation, all the warning lights went off and everything returned to normal (except the cruise control was still disengaged). The entire event lasted no more than 2 seconds.

I continued to my destination none the worse.

This happened twice today once going and once returning from my destination.

Any ideas about whats going on?

I'd push all the connectors on the ECU to make sure they are tight. Are there any codes in the computer? Those kind of momentary disconnects are a bear to track down. I had a van that did the same thing, finally it stopped and didn't 'self heal' long enough I tracked it down to a fried connector on the fuse panel.

Thanks. Where is the ECU located? Do you need a code reader to check for fault codes or is there another way?

Had the exact same thing happen at 1500 miles I now have 9000 without a repeat. Something must be going on but Freightliner said it would not be worth looking at now since everything was working. If others are having this problem maybe someone will find the answer.

I also had this happen once at about 2500 miles on my new 400 HP ISL9 engine. I had Newmar look at it when I got to Nappanee at about 5000 miles 3 weeks ago. It was reported back to me that a unseated connector was found in the front driver side electric compartment and that may have been the problem. Time will tell.
