I am tired of getting unreliable readings for the Fresh Water, Gray, Black and LPG tanks. I am considering the Seelevel 709 PH from RVUpgrade. I would like to use the existing wiring to hook up this system. However, I am not sure if the wiring connections to the tanks (fresh, gray & black) are on the passenger side behind the outside TV or behind the Fresh Water/Gray/Black Panel on the driver side. If this is the case, it is simply too much work and I will not do it. However, if it is behind the TV, then I will tackle it. Is the Black Tank made up of one tank or two? Also is the Gray Tank made up of one or two tanks?

Your feedback will be greatly appreciated.

Gaetan

IF and I stress IF, you can see the sides or ends of the tank (usually the ends) look for 4 screws with wires under them... The top one is the one you will use for the Sea Level.

The existing "Sensors" as they are called..... The screw, basically.. Just a metal rod the screw screws into.

Sea Level uses a completely different sensor.

Newmar uses pads mounted on the side of the tanks, not the much cheaper screws through the tank sides.

OP, have you calibrated the gauges? On your gauge panel there should be a small hole just above or below the pushbutton. A small screwdriver can be used to adjust the "pots" to get accurate readings. I did that years ago and don't have any problems with them.

I have installed them and have found them very reliable. Although I have an 08 Kountry Star, I believe that you will find the wires behind the TV on your DS. Very easy to set up. Please take their advice to merely tape the sensors to the side of your tank until you are sure they work as you would like. You can move them up or down using gray tape to get a more precise measure before permanently installing them. I moved my black and gray sensors a little down so that it will show 100% a few gallons earlier that it should since I doubted that there was precision enough to totally rely on them, but found that I really didn't need to do that. Good luck and keep us posted on your progress. Any questions, let us know
Jim

I have a 2006 DSDP too, the sensors are behind your TV panel. I only have the peg board and have removed it to change the freshwater overflow/vent up higher so it wouldn't dump 1/4 of my fresh water on the first turn. You can access all three tanks there and the sensors are taped on the sides with a/c type tape. My readings are way off like yours. My panel reset is just a push button when full and then empty. There are no screws to adjust the readings like in previous years. I have tried the recalibration several times to no avail and am looking at the Sealevel too.
