What does the switch marked Auto Reverse on the dash above the headlight switch do?
Also I just found out that the water heater is connected to the engine to heat the domestic hot water while the engine is running. How effective is this?
Thanks again
Mike

It's just like it says. Back up to the claire so that it's in your rear camera then push the auto reverse button and your motor home will automatically back into the site with 0 effort in your part. It's awesome!

Ok I was trying to edit that post and accidentally pushed send. I was joking of course. And where it's days Claire it was supposed to say campsite. Thanks to auto spell.
I have a 2000 MADP and don't believe I have a switch marked auto reverse but will check.

If you have hydronic heating the engine coolant goes the the hydronic heater supplying hot water and heat for the coach. I was not aware that was an option in 2000.

OK Dean, you had me goin fot a minute.
Also I don't have hydronic heat. It is supposed to heat the domestic hot water. I just wondered how effective it is.

We have the heater tied to the engine. It's VERY effective!! When we stop the hot water is at 180° or so since the thermostat is a 185°. We have to be careful not to scald ourselves since it's much hotter than the water heater is set for.

You gotta admit it was kinda funny ;-). I'm pretty sure my coach is very similar to yours. Mine is a model 4080. If you haven't figured all your lights out yet I can help. Let me know. Be glad to give you my phone number if you'd like. Here's a picture of my dash around the headlight switch. Nothing labeled auto reverse.

Yes. Leave the switch on the fixture itself in the on position and then you should be able to control it from the headlight switch. Like a dome light in your car works. It sounds like you've already been smart enough to try this and it's not working that way for you. I don't know what to tell you unless someone has rewired that fixture to bypass the headlight switch??? You obviously have continuous power to the fixture or it wouldn't come on when you use the switch on the fixture.

Or the headlight knob is already in the "on" position for the map light.
Turn the map light on and then rotate your headlight switch knob clockwise. What happens?

I had the same issue with my drivers map light. Turns out the headlight switch was not connected. I traced the dome wire down under the dash (white with blue stripe ) I connected it to the "aisle/courtesy " switch on the dash. The switch is double pole/double throw and only utilizes one side for the aisle lights. Tied the blue striped wire to the the bottom unused terminal, push the switch up and the the map light comes on. Much mo better than standing up while driving.Very simple fix. Now if I could eliminate the separate dash light dimmer I'd be really happy. Newmar amazes me, 4 year old DP with a 20 year old light switch.
