More bad quality

I'm so sick of this pos I'm about to throw it through Newmar's front window. Left home a couple hours ago for a weekend trip. About 10 miles from home a guy in a pickup pulled beside me pointing to the back of my mh. I pulled over to check it out. My tail lamp assembly fell out and was hanging by 2 of the two wires that weren't broken off. The tail lights was busted up pretty good from flopping around. I did a quick fix on the road side. Got one bulb working and got put back in place. Now I need some wiring repair and a new light assembly.

Not how I wanted to start the weekend

Check your tail lamps. Only 2 small screws holding it in place.

Surely there must be more to this POS story than one taillight assembly?

Lots of paint damage to the rear panel. Even dented the stainless horizontal trim pieces.

rodz, the two items you have posted about in the last couple days would seem a little petty to most RV'ers. I feel like there are other things that have you so upset, so give us your list of issues and see if someone can help you work through them. On my previous SOB, my batteries didn't last 3 months. I replaced the el cheapo marine batteries for some 6V GC-2's. There are currently topics aboutr people who have very early radiator damage, major engine repairs in the 10's of $1000's, slide problems, etc. I have had a few issues, including a fried control panel on the HWH. Just trying to get a grip on what has you so upset and what are your expectations.

It may not be bad quality, just bad quality control. I would agree things can happen, since last year on my 2014 CS 3911, when the shower bench fell off the wall with me on it. According to newmar the bench supplier installed it after coach completion and used short screws into just the fiberglass. They did not really appoligize but did firmly attached it and said their records indicated I had the only coach that the supplier installed vs production line. Quality control did not verify everything especially after the factory was done but the coach was not off their lot.

Good thought, lots of overhang and lights are right on the corner.

QC seems to a thing of the past now-a-days. Just do a cursory inspection, and pass it on to the next guy. Which is usually a new owner which of course leads to a bad taste in their mouth.

No tail swing. The screws were loose. When it fell out it pulled 6 ft of coiled up extra wire out with it. The light was swinging like a whip beating the crap out of the rear panel. I checked the other light and it too was about ready to fall out.

I always inspect my coach before I leave on a trip. With vibration screws can work loose. Have a 3610 and have had no problems at all. Had a Thor Challenger that was in the shop 6 1/2 months out of the 7 months I had it all quality problems. I don't consider screws coming loose a quality problem.
