We use a bean bag mount. It only take a small dot of Velcro to hold everything steady. The bean bags weight is sufficient to hold the GPS, (mine is the 770) The Velcro just keeps road vibrations from moving it around.

I've used this for 10 years without issue. It never moves even on CA "hiways"

This is what I've used on my ACE's dash for not only my Garmin, but also an arm for my cell phone holder.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001DAT0XE/

They have multiple different sizes and it will stick to uneven/pebbled surfaces and then the suction cup mount will stick to it. Similar to what some others have posted.

That said, I might go the bean back route next time, maybe with the velcro dot as mentioned above.

I'll still use some of the Arkon discs for my cell phone mount, tireminder mount, etc.

Bean Bag, works great! allows you to put the GPS anywhere on the dash or floor.

I have used the Garmin "bean bag" mounts for years but I had problems with the unit (Garmin 760) moving around on the dash, so I tried this mount:
https://www.amazon.com/Garmin-Portab...silicone+mount
The silicone forms around the edge of the dash and it stopped the GPS from wandering.

I had a similar issue with my Garmin 770, so I bought one of these https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B005V1L7AK/ I stick the suction cup to the side window left of my dash board, and prop the arm across the top of my dash for stability support (though it would probably be ok without it). Overall works good, and only have to reattached the suction cup once every couple of months.

I use a RAM mount system - works great for my Garmin 770. Did this left of the wheel so it's eye site view. I put the same right side of the wheel for my phone.

Your system is great for a solo driver, Neal, but doesn't allow a co-pilot to assist with navigation. Having the Garmin 760 (or 770) centrally located allows the driver to focus more on driving while the co-pilot tracks the route. Works for us.

Sorry, I flew A-10's in the Air Force. The concept of someone else navigating scares me

I suction it to the drivers side window up by the A post. Works like a champ.
