The hollow door ancors would not work due to the stirifoam layer on the back wall.

I had drilled 5/16 holes for the hollow door ancors only to find out they wouldn't work

so I had to go to plan B., the hunt was on.

I found these in my junk drawer, I was worried they were for thicker material than 1/4 in luan, so I tested one in a spare piece I had laying around.

Turns out they are perfect for the job so I grabbed 2 more and installed them.

I also used 3M 2 faced tape per the suggestion earlier in this thread.

I’m glad to hear that style worked. One of my favorites over the years. They’re strong, and whatever is attached can be removed and replaced because it’s a machine screw. I thought about suggesting those, but since they’re for drywall, I too thought they may not work. Be aware they’re difficult to remove and patch behind though.

They do come in different lengths and the one in the picture looks long, don’t put it through the other wall!

I’ve been wanting to mount a Dyson in the coach for a while now. While on an extended stay with our son in 2013 I got an early one, DC59 I think, that had been returned to use in the coach. When we got home, I put it in the house. Later got a V6 absolute for a great clearance price and donated the DC59 to our church. BTW, a year ago I got it a new charger and battery and it’s still being frequently used. Great machine. Now I’ve been pulling the V6 off the wall to take with us and that is a pain so we don’t take it on shorter trips, also a pain! This’ll give me a push to get a new one for the house and mount the V6 in the coach.

The question is, V10 or V11?

The V11 has 20% more suction and better battery life than the V10. We have a V11 Animal and it is awesome. We full-time and have two dogs so it gets a workout and has proven it's value.

If in doubt stick it, with high grade double sided tape like what I did, Gorilla's good.
Did you hear about a monkey who went up to an Ape & put a sausage in his ear? The Ape said hey!" what ya doing" the monkey says "I'm sorry I thought you were a Gorilla!"

Do you leave your Dyson plugged in all the time, I worry after a neighbors garage caught on fire when his drill battery burst into flames when left on the charger too long?

They can be removed I also test that just back the screw out and push in to straighten it takes a little doing but works.

This is the new V11 Torque drive, I got the best deal direct from Dyson, got 202.00 dollars off, plus choice of 2 free accessories/kits.

I opted for the Floor roller power head and deep cleaning kit with the flex hose.

I have owned 2 Dysons V7 and V10 for the last 5 years always plugged in never an issue.

Ted.

Did you use a shallow or regular receptacle box?
