There's a design flaw in my Ventana that can't be fixed. The toilet seat will not stay up. This creates a mousetrap situation for the men of the RV.

The toilet is positioned too far back and can't be moved forward. When you lift the seat, it hits the cabinet.

I'll have to rig up something to latch it in place or replace the seat/lid.

I'm using it this weekend, but it will have to go back to have 8 cracked tiles fixed, replace the side window that won't latch and the light that stays on for 20 minutes, and then shuts off.

Put a piece of color coordinated hook and loop tape on the lid and a matching spot on the cabinet. Should hold it up fine.

The problem is that the lid stays up fine. It's the seat that won't stay up.

If I use Velcro to hold the seat up, then I'd be sitting on the Velcro when it's down.

Is there anyway of extending the seat hinge arms about a half inch or so? This would probably put it over center and accomplish the goal.

I'm going to look at that this weekend. I'll also have to see if a replacement seat might work.

Hi! How about calling Newmar and tell them they have a design problem? Maybe they will make you a new cabinet that the seat does not hit. I would think they would not want you to be having to live with this issue. Paul

After the kids go to bed, I'll look at the seat for options. I'll give Newmar a call, too.

If a trip to Camp Newmar is required, then I'll fix it myself. VA to IN will cost me more in diesel than it will to fix it myself.

I'll call them on Tuesday. I also want to know where my Newmar User's DVD is. There was a note in my owner's manual saying it would be sent at a later date.

I guess it's because I have one of the first 09 models, but they should have the DVD by now.
