MSO....the run around

I'm not sure anybody can help, but it will just feel good to vent. A little background: we have dreamed of owning a Dutch Star since we first saw a Newmar Class A approximately 7 years ago. We are just good 'olé working class America nearing retirement in the next 18 months. We finally felt we were in a financial position to order our dream coach, a Newmar DSDP, which we did in September 2015 at the Hershey RV show. We asked for delivery beginning of April so that we could do CPU during spring break late April. Due to the front axle issue, production was pushed out a couple of weeks. We were finally given a CPU date for 4/28. As everyone knows, going through the whole process can be stressful, exciting, agonizing, basically the whole gamut of emotions.
Not being independently wealthy, we had to procure some financing. We did not get a lot of communication from the dealer finance dept. so went and got financing on our own. Now comes the truly frustrating part.
Lender requires copy of MSO before generating paperwork. Newmar tells me dealer must return paperwork to them before they can issue MSO. Dealer told me week ago that they took care of paperwork. We are caught in middle and nobody will return calls! Meanwhile clock is ticking. We are at T minus 17 days to CPU. Is it really this hard to get this deal wrapped up?
Is this NORMAL? Has anyone else experienced this run around? We just don't know where to turn, who to contact, what to do, etc. At any rate, not sure if anyone can shed any light on our predicament but it did feel good to get it all out

Congrats on the new MH. I'm sure it will all work out. With today's computer ability and faxing ability things like this can be done in a very short period of time. A few years ago we were buying a new house and it was down to the day of supposed closing, and loan docs hadn't even been drawn yet due to different parties waiting on each others documentation. We had done all on our end, including the down payment, several days prior, so this was a shock to us even though they seemed like it was no big deal. Between 1200 noon and 3:30 they pulled it all together, and we signed and took possession that day. They tried to assure us everything was ok but we stressed anyway. Good luck and try to relax and enjoy the experience of getting your new MH.

Thank you for some reassurance. We are trying to stay positive, but it does get stressful with the lax approach at times! I would prefer not to name dealer right now. They assure me they are working on it. I guess time will tell.

Everyone else involved is doing this dozens of times a week, folks like you and me, it's like huh? They're lax because of that familiarity with the process.

Congratulations on the realization of your dream...and your pending retirement. We were in your same position of longing to fulfill our dream of a DP. We were/are just ordinary folks. We both retired 3 days before our CPU week.

We too financed a portion of this purchase for a number of reasons. We financed through our dealer...but that shouldn't matter. Your dealer is experienced in doing this sort of thing AND he (or she) has skin in the game. It is unlikely that they will not pull this thing together.

Enjoy your CPU week. We will be there for warranty work at the same time...so I will just look for someone with a grin that won't quit...that will be you. I think that Candy Girl will be there at the same time. I think that the same perpetual grin will be on her face as well.

Maybe try another lender? Our credit union didn't need the MSO until much later. I already had a check in hand walking into the dealer with all the necessary 0's, using only a copy of the purchase order.
