Multiplex wall plates

Am I the only one that struggles with the Multiplex wall plate indicator lights? I’m 6 feet tall and find my self having to bend down directly in front of the wall plates to see the indicator lights, it is frustrating at best.

You'll eventually memorize the most used switches.
Wait until the printing wears off.

Are you aware the backlight on them is adjustable, high low and off. Maybe the brightest setting would help.

Ok Don how do we adjust the backlight? I’m 6’5” and must bend in half to get to a level where I can see the dim light. Same with toilet switches. Help please.

Yes I am aware of the adjustable backlight levels, it doesn’t help me with the indicator dots, they appear as a dim greenish color that on mine only are clear at eye level. I wish the indicator dots were raised domes.
To adjust the backlight you simply push the switch, I think it’s bright, less bright, very dim and off

Is there anyway hook into the KIB system and make a custom display or add a WiFi or Bluetooth dongle and make a smart phone app to control the system?

Now this would be a lot of work, but you could make an angled spacer, making the panels angle up for easier viewing.

Side Note......I hated the push button on the macerator toilets. You had to center your finger just right over the button to get it to work. Someone here suggested putting one of those clear dots, used on cabinet doors to keep them from banging, over the button. Now I can find the button without having to look at it. The dot has stayed on too.

Here's another thought after talking about the dot above. Maybe you could remove the panel, lay it flat and drop a dot of clear paint or resign on each light indicator. That way the light would be more visible as it illuminated the dot.

Don the angled up would work, agreed it would be a lot of work. I don’t think the clear dot of resin or paint would come out clean enough for my taste.

I’m with Stuart Don. Angled spacer is great idea. But resin or clear paint on on panel would not be clean and sanitary looking, imho.

Here’s an update also posted in another thread;

Here is the catch, Newmar would have to request KIB to update the programming of the system for this to happen, once updated the system could be updated by hooking a laptop up to the system in the motorhome. I’m sure this requires special software that maybe dealers have.

I cut a round dot out of the soft side of Velcro for our toilets, now you just reach down to fill for it

New update, after hearing that the 2019 will probably be white backlit with red “ON” indicator lights. I called Newmar and had a 3 way conversation with KIB. KIB said a lot of changes can be made to the system, but Newmar must request them, The KIB rep told me that I should, and encourage others to blog and contact Newmar about the issue of poorly lit “ON”indicator lights that need to be at near eye level to see. Bottom line if you agree with me, let your opinions be known.

Two issues with the panel.
First is the color of the led light. It’s green. Against the turquoise backlight it’s difficult to see even if you look straight on.
The second issue is the led light doesn’t extend far enough into the bezel, therefore it’s hard to see at an angle.
I fixed that. If you’re handy and can solder....
I left the high, medium and low alone.
