Must Do! When picking up at the factory

One day last winter in Fort Meyers My wife and I stopped into a RV dealer we had some time to kill
Well the next thing you know we are picking up our new DutchStar at the factory this September
We have never had a rv before
We have no clue on what to do at the factory other than take the tour
I have read some great things about taking delivery at the factory
Can anyone suggest things to do at the factory or in the area?

Glad you're aboard. Congrats on the new rig. Take some time and read the posts in the Newmar Forum. Lots of good info there that will help you with your queries. Enjoy your adventures and be safe.

Congrats!! and Welcome to the Newmar Family!!

Please look at "007"'s http://www.irv2.com/forums/f103/newm...-a-113631.html there is all kinds of information from others who've done factory delivery. Plus there's places to eat and things to do if you've got time to kill.

Plan on staying at "Camp Newmar" for a week. Run everything, ask lots of questions and once you "think" you are ready drive a short distance and do it again.

One of the places we love to visit when in Nappanee is Rentown. It's a Amish grocery store that will take you back in time. We love their sliced meats and packaged cheeses. Amish Acres is a must for dinner.

When are you taking delivery? We have a Sept 29th appointment and will be there for two weeks.

Most importantly...enjoy the learning process.

Welcome and congratulations on your new to be DSDP.
For starters here is a 2014 Owners Guide so you will have some idea of what will be in your 2015 DSDP.
I do have a 2015 Brochure, Newmar is in the process of redoing their web site for all the changers for 2015 year and we are patiently waiting for the site renewal.
Now things to do you can find many in this link and to continue in reading for your new Newmar in my signature below are links to many items that will cover your new coach.
After you get all this under your belt you should have a pretty good idea about RVing in your new coach, if not many here to help.

Take the rig for a 2 or 3 night, 100-200 mile camping trip, then return to the factory so that they can fix anything that isn't right or answer any questions that you have.

Congrats on your purchase!! Welcome to the Newmar family. If you have time, take in the RV Museum and Hall Of Fame in Elkhart. A great collection of both motorized and towable RV's all the way back to the beginning.

Auburn IN is a couple of hours away to the east. There is the Auburn, Cord and D'burg factory and museum. If you like cars from the roaring 20's and the 30's you will enjoy this place. Many other noteworthy cars as well.

The Studebaker museum is also close in S. Bend I believe. have not been to that one.

In Shipshewana, Yoders market has wonderful cheese and meats. Jerky to die for.

Second the trip to Rentown rolled butter is one of our favorites and we are usually ask to get some for others.
