hitch failure
When you get this sorted out, consider purchasing and installing a "Trailer Toad". This will take off all the weight from the receiver and the frame of the coach.

If I were you, I would see if Spartan will use the 20,000# hitch that's standard on the 2015 King Aire as a replacement for your faulty one.

Tried that. They state it's not possible...

Hmmm, might have something to do with a frame change made to accommodate the passive tag steering, or it's just that they don't want the liability of an up-rated retrofit.
Good luck!!

Since the chassis was certified for 15000# max to tow when it was manufactured, Spartan can not now install a heavier hitch.

Thank you for posting. Very sorry to hear about hitch, I suppose it could happen to any model?! If it is not too much trouble to post, I was wondering what the other issues of your new King Aire are, in addition to AC & camera, why was it at the factory, nightmare? We are also considering new King Aire, and are interested to hear what issues might be expected. With warm regards, James

Glad to hear you are getting it taken care of. I am no metals/welding expert but I did work for a natural gas utility with many pipe welders many years ago and I remember them taking welding tests and rarely would the metal strap break where the weld was when they performed one of the stress tests. You seem to have many areas broken where it was welded,

I think we might have just had a stroke of bad luck. I have been very pleased with the King Aire for a year now. It has been wonderful mechanically. We went to the factory with a list of fairly minor issues that our local dealer could never get right. A few tiles with stress cracks was one. In their attempt to replace those as well as a few others they found cracked, they destroyed the floor. The gorgeous black floor is now cloudy and blotchy and the whole floor needs to be replaced. They could not complete the job while it was there so we have to drive 1000 miles back to the factory during their slow season for what they call a "300 hour job" to replace the entire floor. But honestly they gave me no hassles when I told them I was not pleased with the job and wanted the whole floor replaced. It will just be an inconvenience to bring it back to be completed. That is the most frustrating. The real nightmare was the hitch breaking and what could have happened. The short 350 mile trip started out with the cameras becoming inop again, then the tpms losing signal on a couple of tires, hot air blasting the passenger when it's 90 degrees outside ....then the hitch. But again, Newmar stepped in with Spartan and made sure I was taken care of on the major issue of the hitch. I'm not sure many other manufacturers take care of their customers like that. The other issues - camera system, passenger a/c, televator, generator slide out etc are minute and I'm hoping they will be fixed on the 2nd pass at the factory while the floor is being done.
I can confidently say I would buy another King Aire with no real hesitation.

Its good to hear things will be resolved.
As to the heat blasting the passenger from dash air it may be this problem that was found by one of the Hoot's "Redbaron73", Evans control installed wrong.

The metal failure should be examined by a metallurgist who can identify the exact cause of failure

This came up once before on another brand RV. The trailer was getting dragged a lot at the hitch connection going in and out of driveways.....have you had that issue?
