My Pegboard Conversion

I've been waiting to do this but with a wheel well leak I had to wait for Newmar to seal up the situation which was done last week and now I can complete my mod and of course remove and store brand new pegboard from the water soaked replacement.

In my garage at home (aka S&B to most here) I use a track mounted storage system on the walls and really like it. It's by Hafele and has all kinds of accessories you can use to hang or store things. So I bought a 4-track system (48in) to put in my pegboard bay, then I thought why not put one in my left rear storage (side radiator people don't be jealous) basement as well so I ordered a second 4 track system and more goodies.

I went to Home Depot and got some marine grade plywood (aka birch I think it's called) then used a primer/sealer/paint to get it sealed up. One minor cut to get it in as obviously the hole is not as big as the area the board actual fits (gasket area) and in she went, per pic 1.

I then started putting in the omni trak system and realized it would accept 5 tracks in height so I took one from the left/rear bay area. Had to use a hacksaw to cut them down to 42.5in wide, in they go.

Then just putting the accessories you want in place and someday figure out what more I can put in there [emoji4] I have too much storage (ever hear that??) in this awesome 4037 floor plan for just me and the four legged shedding machine.

The only thing of note is now it's an almost air tight bay so closing the door takes two tries just like the electrical bay under the driver's seat.

That's a nice system. It sure looks good. Definitely something to consider.

That is really clean Neal. I had mine apart a few days ago to check my fresh water overflow and found that the pegboard, that I never used or liked, had a nice carpet cover glued on the back. I turned it around and use the storage area like this:

Great job, I like the idea for grooves that will accept the hangers and keep from shaking around , much more beefy than a pegboard.
