Jigs, when you have a moment I was wondering about how far in advance did Newmar give you dates for your PDI ? Our rig is supposed to be finished in late March maybe first week of April so I was curious how long after that the PDI takes place.

Thanks and great pictures.

KenNJ,

If I understand Newmar's protocol correctly, when a customer elects the factory delivery option, Newmar assigns a tech to conduct a thorough testing of all the coach systems - their PDI. Newmar's PDI is a two to three week process, which begins directly after the coach has completed the build process. At the conclusion of the this period, the customer is given the opportunity to work directly with a technician that is assigned specifically to the customer for up to five days, (business work week) scheduled to begin on a Monday and continue to Friday of that week, if desired.

As an example: In my original build schedule, my coach was initially scheduled to have completed being built on February 18th. The Newmar PDI would begin immediately thereafter. The earliest date available for my factory PDI/Delivery was Monday, March 10th thru Friday, March 14th. I requested to delay or push back my PDI/Delivery to the week of March 31st, in hopes of more temperate weather.

If my understanding is incorrect, hopefully someone will jump in with the correct answer.

Jigs

Your reply is perfect and thanks a million for that. We did elect Factory pickup so my early guess is based on our coach being finished with Production the last week of March we would probably be doing our PDI the last week of April. That could change however because there have been a couple of days already this year where Newmar was closed due to the weather conditions. We will see.

Again, thanks for the quick reply. Much appreciated.

KenNJ,

You're welcome. Congratulations on your new coach. We've seen a couple of Ventanna 43s on the production line this week...absolutely gorgeous! You're gonna be thrilled. If you get the opportunity to do the factory tour while your coach is on the production line, you will, like us, be blown away.

Best of luck!

Jigs

Funny you said that because my wife was reading your posts and asked why cant we go and see our coach before PDI. We are in NJ so basically a day to drive out there and another to return. Going to check schedules and possibly do the same as you and then return for our pickup.

As another posted and so true, such excitement in the air with new coaches now and those to come in the future. Your pictures added to our excitement so thanks so much for that. We will return the favor when we visit and take delivery in a couple months.

If you haven't already done so, email Roxie Rice (rrice@newmarcorp.com) with your unit/order #. She can supply you the day your coach will enter Building 7. We just have a little 'ole gasser on order and didn't opt for the PDI, but your trip to do the factory tour will be worth it! There have been some delays as someone stated previously (and Indiana just received another boatload of snow last night), so your date may be subject to change. Congrats on your soon to be born coach!
