Our thoughts and prayers are with you, your wife and your family. My wife had emergency open heart surgery last November and today we're 6 weeks into a trip and she's doing well. We wish the same for you and yours.

Our prayers are with you during this ordeal. A friend of ours just had a valve replaced about a month ago, and is doing great. Two NC hospitals (Wake Forest Baptist & Duke) are now doing the procedure through a catheter, which is much less invasive and speedy recovery. It is investigational as of now with (FDA), but bet there is such a facility near you, if her DR. thinks she is a candidate. Our friend just had the conventional procedure, and still did very well. Just happen to know about the new one from someone who works in Heart Research @ Baptist.
Good Luck and God Bless !

I had Aortic valve replaced five years ago. As said before very routine, I had little to no pain, just a little discomfort. The first day was all sleeping, home on the fifth day. I have the metal valve. Do the rehab and daily walks and all will be good.

A quick update. Carol has several tests now scheduled to ensure arteries are clear and blood tests. Surgery is scheduled for the morning of October 6th. We (she) has opted for the Bovine valve for the replacement. I was told today that I should be able to park the M/H in the back parking lot which will be great as the hospital is almost 100 miles from home.
Many THANK YOU"S for the kind words, prayers, and thoughts!

Ronnie
