Need help on outfitting a Ventana

Newbie to forum and first time RVer. Purchasing a 3412 Ventana, please recommend what I need to purchase to outfit coach. For example, do I need to purchase black/gray sewer hose? Coach has EMS will this suffice for surge protection? Other items? Appreciate any guidance.

I'd wait to see what comes with the coach, then take your time. There's no hurry and most of what you need can likely be picked up at big box stores, Camping World or Amazon. You'll fine tune your load for a while.

One thing that I've found useful since day one is a valved hose y connector like the one in this picture(actually, the one I have is plastic). I screw that on the hose bib at the park and my hoses and the coach have quick connect fittings. I have two white potable hoses and one green hose for flushing the black tank and dump hose.

My two cents from our experience: purchase sewer hose. If one comes with unit it will be cheap. Purchase extra water hose, 30 amp converter for time when you can't get to 50 amp, depending on length of power cord may want extra one, surge protector if you don't have built in one, tire pressure monitors, RV GPS, rubber gloves and towels for wet bay, jack pads, outdoor mat, chairs for you and your spouse, 2 wine glasses, small grill, and a patridge in a pear tree 😎. You will pick up more things in your travels. Don't sweat it. Well to the camping life. Enjoy the journey

I used to use a y connector at the park water outlet too. Then my brother told me about 2, not one but two campers who had those connectors leak and fill the black tanks, overflowing them while the campers where gone. Big mess. Now I still use it but don't leave the hose to the black connected until I want to flush.

My green hose usually has a spray nozzle attached - there's always something to wash off when camping. I only connect to the black tank when dumping.

It's been 50 yrs since I first bought a rig. Hard to know what you're going to need.
Water hose, sewer hose, extension cord, electrical adapters, toilet paper, dishes, silverware, cups, mugs, food, pots and pans, adult beverages, linens, batteries for the remotes, BBQ, propane or charcoal, some basic tools, chairs, and....

Ref: Papa Foxtrot. These are very useful and make hook ups and black,tank flush easier. However do not get the quick connects from Home Depot or Lowes. Those are just brass colored aluminum and will corrode quickly. Get solid brass, Gillmore makes some and are carried by Best, Ace,,and many independent hardware stores.

The EMS is not a surge protector bu serves to switch power from generator to shore power. A hard wired surge protector is a good way to go. You will need a water hose to flush out black water tank. The water regulator given to me was plastic and cheap. I would get a brass one to protect your investment. The sewer line was also cheap and not complete, maybe your dealer will give you a better quaility one than I got. Just get the bare essentials and go out local and see what you need. Plus you can see what others are using and decide what you like. That is the fun part once you get started.

In addition dont forget the air compressor, vacume, broom, and every tool and tool box you own. Just kidding or maybe not, some spare filters, belts, wine opener, fridge thermometer, spare ink cartridges, cleaning and protecting products for the inside and out, a saw and rake.....and the most important a credit card and first aid kit.
