Need help understanding A/V equipment

My wife & I (along with the bank) are the proud owners of a 2013 Newmar Canyon Star 3911. As Leonard says on "The Big Bang Theory", "I'm smart", but the factory installed A/V systems are driving me nuts trying to figure them out. They're all Sony branded, except for the distribution box, which is Quest (no manual provided & no remote yet found). The Somy equipment is 3 TVs, 3 DVDs, and 1 A/V system whose remote includes at least 947 buttons. I also have a DirecTV receiver (with remote).

I need a simple explanation for how to control these items from the provided remotes.

Any help appreciated.

Hi Jim T.,
Congratulations on the new coach. I feel your pain. Consider first making a list of questions and calling Newmar customer service. You could start with the items mentioned in your post that are lacking/not found.

There is a lot of information and support available on the Sony web site, including remote control directions and documentation downloads:
Sony eSupport - Electronics

As Gary said, my first call would be to Newmar. As the electronics were installed, the manuals should have been gathered up and saved for the customer.

Jim, in my CS with the same Sony electronics, the TV remotes will also control the DVD players and the remote for my Dish receiver can be programmed to operate the main TV. I have no remote for the distribution box--it has push buttons for selecting the appropriate input/device. Perhaps you have a newer model.

Jim,

The Quest distribution box is the Video Control C.enter which gives you the various settings required for each of the operation. Not knowing what you may have tried or if you are getting a picture to your TV, your first step is to select the signal at the VCC. IE SAT; Cable, DVD etc.

From there, if you are not receiving a picture, you will need to scan on the TV for which ever setting you may have selected.

If your problem is just using the remote control, I recommend the programable Harmony which is easy and will allow you to control all devises with the touch of one button.

The Quest does not have a remote, it is a simple push button unit.
