They have been slow in changing out the brochures from the 2010's to 2011's we now have the 2011 DS.
This Dealer has most of the 2011's on his lot but no floor plans.
Looks like all Freightliner chassis with tags and a 37' without tag.

On the Newmar website under specifications for the 2011 Dutch Star, all of the 40xx models are listed with a "t" at the end, like 4020t. What does the "t" reference.

Good question. Maybe tag Axel?
Think they had to add tag axles because of added weight of parts for emissions on new engines..

Yes, if you look at the end of the brochure under the specs, those have tag axles.

T = Tag axle sounds right. Thanks.
I have seen some pictures of 40' 2011 DS, and they all had the single axle. I guess they were all on the Spartan chassis. Are all the DS on Freightliners going to have a tag? If that is correct, then I can see the 40xx dying as they are only 2 feet shorter than the 43xx. 40xx = 40' 9" and 43xx = 42' 9". The 43xx should be 42xx.

Correct about FL --- but sad. The more expensive model units still get Spartan I think.
They really should have changed the name a year or so ago ...it really isn't a DUTCH STAR anymore anyway. Just because they can spell it on the coach --- doesn't make it one.

Why is a Dutch Star not a DS anymore ??...because of the FL chassis ?

IMO in about 2009 Newmar decided to discontinue the Kountry Star name which was a fine coach but a step under the Dutch Star. The made the Ventana sort of fill the Kountry Star slot and the Dutch Star was downgraded to the Kountry Star. They made a Dutch Aire about then and basically took the Kountry Star and put the Dutch Star name on it.
I think they felt they needed to do something because every year the KS went up a notch in amenities and the DS also went up a notch. The DS name coach that put a lot of bread on the table for them in the early and mid 2000s was getting out of its price range because they kept adding a bigger motor and more slides and amenities every year.

"007" has it right. I just took the factory tour last week and they said they had to use the tag axel on the 40 footers due to the urea tank and other emission stuff.
