Am a bit surprised NEWMAR did not figure that one out (DEF at the tanks) and used their imagination and knowledge to accomodate the high end lines and the same can be said re: Flying Js, Pilots and others.....but trucks do monopolize the users, I would believe

Hello and. you will find DEF at many auto stores and very different price points! We have purchased it for as low as $9.95 for 2 1/2 gallons and as high as $15.00 but never higher. When found on sale we always stock up at least three containers. Buy the 2 1/2 gallon containers any larger would be very difficult to pour. Good news in our Cummins 450 ISL we use only about 2 1/2 gallons approx every 600 plus miles. The filling at Fling J's is impossible! Just fueling is difficult as we use only the truck lanes because of the small RV lanes provided. Using the Advantage card allows us to fill to capacity without going inside or swiping the cc twice. Good idea to check out! Congratulations on your Newmar Essex.

DEF is tied to the emission system, so it is the Chassis manufactures Freightliner and Spartan that need to engineer a solution. The coach builders have to build around the location of the Chassis components included the location of the DEF tank.
