New 2015 DS with loud vibration noise

Well, we picked up our new 2015 DS from the dealer last week. Was a long 5 month wait. Traded in our 2002 DS with 2 slides. Can't believe the difference in room, ammenities. We went with the 4369 with two recliners...very comfy.

We've put 400 miles on it now and love the way it rides and handles with the comfort drive.

It only took us 2 1/2 days to transfer all the stuff to the new coach. Wife has toooo much stuff.

Could not find where to store the wine. Took 3 days to find the unique cabinet in the 1/2 bath that works perfectly.

We have found 3 problems

1) With a head wind at 45 degrees from passenger side, we get (off and on) a loud vibration in the front. Hard to explain, but it sounds like a rubber band in high wind...not metalic and not a sharp vibration, but loud.

2) Got home and notice a lot of oil on the passenger side tag axle. In fact ther was a puddle of oil on the wheel. I called Freightliner cust. ser. and talked to Dwayne. Suggested I take of hub and check to see if the drain plug was tight. It wasn't. Tightened and refilled hub. I don't think there was any bearing damage since there was a little oil left and we only noticed it in the last 200 miles.

3) Sometimes the door will rattle...I think it is vibrating against the safety pin.

Other than those 3, we love the coach.

Gjbeels- a corkscrew will eliminate the need to find a home for the vino and free up storage space! LOL.
Congrats on the new ride!

Problems 1&3, may be related, the wind angle may be buffeting the door seals and creating a buzz/ vibration in the door jam, and proper adjustment may cure both.
Or and this would depend on the area on the passenger side where the noise is loudest, the wind may be catching and trying to unfurl the door awning, or main awning. I don't have power awning so I can't say if there is any tension adjustment possible.

Vibration

If I have a strong crosswind from the passenger side across the coach I get a loud vibration sound over the driver . It is the consensus that the cause is the full wall slide awning cover vibrating. My coach is currently at the dealer to have two additional anti-furl brackets installed, one forward and one aft. I don't know if your coach has the same covers as the Essex and King Air, both of which have reported this problem.

My door would clack, like an old style door knocker. I removed the door striker with the large washer and added a plastic washer behind the metal washer. The striker still floats, but the noise is gone.

gjbeels ... Congratulations on the pickup. Dwayne at FL has helped us several times in the past, so you sure got to the right person when you called. If you ever find a solution on the door ... there are many of us out here that will sure appreciate it!! In the mean time, I think I will try Dutch Star Don's suggestion.

Greg, are you sure the passenger door is closing fully? There is another thread relating to difficulty getting the door to latch fully so that the deadbolt will lock. Sometimes the door will appear to be closed but has only caught on the first latch position. Many owners have to slam the door hard to get it to the second latch position.

We have a corkscrew and we will help you solve your wine storage issue.

Try some 303 Protector around rubber seal to soften the door seal so eventually may not need to slam door loosening something else around the door.
Works good on slide seals also so they do not squeak.
