You guys who have New Aires, does the New Aire have two 12 volt outlets on the dash as standard equipment. Saw one on a lot with one left of the steering wheel and one about mid dash. Friend has a new Essex and it does not have both of these. Is that a special order item?

There’s only one. On the right. On the left there are 3 USB ports in total.

The one on the upper left looks suspiciously like 12v but it’s actually a USB port and audio port under a cover just like a 12v plug.

If you are needing one on the left (or anywhere there is a USB connection but no 12 volt) there is a converter wire that plugs into the USB and changes it to 12V. They are about $10.00 but I can't remember where I got my (online). I use it for my TPMS and it keeps the dash area more wire free.

Here's me solution. The cigarette lighter plug on the NA dash is wired to a 20 amp fuse in the KIB panel in the basement below the driver's seat. This KIB panel is hooked to the chassis battery. The 20 amp fuse is on the ACC side of the KIB panel. Meaning it is hot only when ignition is in accessory or higher position.

I bought several Blue Sea Dual USB charger plugs and installed them all around the dash then wired them up to the cigarette lighter circuit outlined above.

So now I have USB plugs all around the dash to hook up equipment. These plugs will not be powered unless ignition is in ACC position or Start position.
