New Aire with Motorcycle lift
We are getting close to pulling the trigger on a 2019 New Aire 3341 and we would like to install a Hydralift motorcycle lift for our Honda Goldwing. We also plan to pull a Jeep Wrangler. Has anyone seen this setup on a New Aire before? Thanks!

Not that particular combination but it will be fine. Lots of coaches with mc lifts towing vehicles. Four or five in the small park we’re in in Key West. You may need a short hitch extension for the toad to clear the lift. Have fun!

Short MH with a lot of weight behind the axle. I'm thinking you're creating a handling problem.

Keep in mind this is a sub-34 foot coach without a tag axle. That's a lot of weight hanging off the back

Good article the effect of adding weight behind rear axle. A 2000 lb bike and carrier may actually add 2500 lb load to rear axle, and unload front axle. Probably best to load up your coach for travel and get it weighed. This will allow you to figure out what you can carry on the back of your coach.

Personally, I think you have the wrong coach to do what you're thinking. Hanging that much weight off the back of a 34' coach will almost surely overload the drive axle rating and lighten the loading on the front axle. That's even a heavy lift for a 40' coach with tag.
Before I did something like that, I would run it by the professionals; Newmar, Freightliner, etc.

You might check out the CruiserLift.com website which has information to determine if your coach can handle their lift. I don't know if Hydralift has the same info available. Our 2007 33'10" long Ventana handles the Cruiser Lift just fine. It has the capability to also flat tow.

Even with our 37', a single rear axle is the problem. It's rear axle is rated at 24k and I would be over that with a lift and my Road King on the back not to mention the weight it takes off the front. Could make a handling issue.

Your issue may be in the tongue weight. If New Aire is a 10,000lb hitch, you are limited to 1000 lb capacity.

I have never actually observed a 2-axle DP with a hydro motorcycle lift.
I only have one friend that had a lift installed for his Harley. Getting the lift was a huge factor in him purchasing his 40' tag axle Ventana in the first place.

I’ve only seen one single rear axle coach with a MC lift. Don’t remember the details, RV, MC, and so forth but I do remember asking questions. I was told that there were no handling issues, specifically the front end. The owner also told me that extensions were added to the frame and the lift was welded to the frame. I remember looking and seeing a lot of iron welded to the frame. Now I have no clue how much weight was on the axle, nor did I ask.
This was quite a few years before we even thought about fulltiming and having the coach we currently have and carrying our MC.
Now, for our installation, and you should find us in a few threads on this site, my lift is welded directly to the frame, nothing else! Then the lift is bolted to the saddle brackets. We have a Hydralift and would have nothing else, best lift out there. Currently have 24K miles with the Roadglide on the back of the coach.
I’ve seen a few lifts, no matter which one, that are setup to go into the three receivers. I was allow to jump up and down on one of them and boy was there a lot of movement, too much for me. In my opinion, I didn’t think the hitch setup was safe. No flame JMO.

Thanks Dennis. If you happen to be able to snap a photo of a two-axle DP with a motorcycle lift on the bak, I'd love to see it. Trying to find someone to talk to who has done this and learn from their experience. - Scott
