New Antenna Installation

As I mentioned in an earlier posting, I broke a radio antenna off at the base. The stud that the antenna screws onto actually is what broke. No big deal, Newmar was happy to supply a replacement. The replacement is complete - it has the complete mounting base. So I need to remove the old base and remount the new one. I'm wondering if I should mount the new one with butyl tape and then seal the outside with self leveling Dicor, or should I apply a generous bead of regular Dicor to the base and then mount it? Or does it make any difference? I have not yet removed the old one. Waiting for it to get a bit warmer and quit raining/snowing. Thanks!
jt

Sounds like you have the right idea just be careful removing old caulk from roof liner, I would use a piece of the Dicor tape they have in repair kits make hole and slip cable through , than the Dicor sealant once mounted.

Hi harleyjt,
As the last step, some EternaBond would not hurt.
