I wish to thank so many of you on this forum for your contributions in helping to make up my mind on purchasing a new Essex. Hopefully, next week we leave for Lee's RV in Oklahoma City, OK. to take delivery of a new 4502.

As time is of the essence, I could not wait to place an order for one exactly as I wanted, but Lee's had it tricked out about 98% of everything I would have ordered. Several of you including Jetsmania, Lug Nut, and Rebelsbeach were most helpful with ideas and suggestions. I really appreciate your contributions to this forum and find it so helpful.

As several have already been through some of the trials and tribulations of this model of new coach, it makes the journey hopefully less troublesome. Cummins service and Lee's are working on the various areas of concern that several of you have faced... prior to my taking delivery. I told them neither I nor my wife would really enjoy being stranded on the side of the road with a fan belt issue.

I have enjoyed my ten year coach ownership tenure with Winnebago, however I have heard nothing concrete about plans to make a higher end coach, especially over 40 feet. With the new Freighliner tag and some rumblings about larger payloads, it may be down the pike, but today is today. Hope to have a good journey with Newmar, and look forward to meeting some of you at rallies, etc.

Congrats Chuck!!

I truly feel you're entering the world of Essex ownership at just the right time, given the fact that Road Pilot,LugNut and I have trekked on before you and tested the waters of all the different issues with our coaches.

Having owned an '06 Vectra and had several conversations with folks in Forest City when out there for service, it is my opinion that Winnebago's "bread and butter" is in the coaches that stop at 40 feet, evidenced by their eventual dropping of the Ultimate Freedom several years ago.
It's only my opinion, but I think Winnebago wanted to concentrate on what they do REAL good.
Having said that, the introduction of a new Freightliner Chassis does muddy those waters,I just don't see Winnebago going there.
I've said it before and I'll say it here....I left Winnebago because they didn't make a 45 with a tag and if they suddenly started doing that and I was in the market, I'd sincerely consider them.
Winnebago's Customer Service is certainly on the same level of what I've seen at Newmar, with the obvious "high line" exception of being able to stay with the coach.

NOW.....enough about Winnebago, let's hear more of that 4502!!
Peter and I both have 4502's so I'm anxious to see pictures and hear what color scheme you chose,
although you nor I could top Peter and Cherry's special order of about THREE different ones.

Let us hear from you during your experience and don't forget to let those folks at Lee's know about iRV2!

Good luck my friend, I'm happy for you!

Hi Chuck! PARTY TIME! Since your PM I see what model you got, what color is it. My guess, it is Brilliant Silver inside and out? Is it the one on Lee's web site? Paul

It is the one on the website. But I don't want to get too far in front of the horse... we haven't seen it in person yet and that is the purpose of the trip. Then hopefully we will bring it back with us. Have alloted a few days to stay and go over it in detail.

Lee called me personally today as he is just back from a trip to China with an rv manufacturer and wanted to congratulate me. I was taking a few things out of my old rig at the time in order to make the trip to Oklahoma City next week.

While we were on the phone, I mentioned this site as several of you had expressed that you wanted me to do by both this forum and by private messages... He went online right as we were talking and saw the activity on IRV2.com.

I appreciated the call and his personal involement with my purchase. I will get to meet him in person next week.

Lee's was one of the dealers I contacted when buying my DSDP. Lee called me after I bought from another dealer, and still invited me to stop by his dealership and say Hi, if I'm ever out his way. It's nice to know good people, and Lee's is on my list of good dealers.

You will find him to be a genuinely nice person and his dealership & people are a first class operation. They are NOT open on Saturday, due to his personal religous beliefs. I think that says something about integrity. ED
