From the Yahoo Newmarowners group.

The King Aire is a brand new product to address the market between an
Essex and the London Aire. There are currently 5 floorplans. The
King Aire is built on a K3 Spartan chassis and has a 600 HP Cummins
ISX engine. A few of the features:

Comfort Drive
200 gal fuel tank
Hurricane Oasis Hydronic heating system
New 17' Norcold 4-door refer with ice & water in door
40" LCD TV in bedroom
Self-closing cabinet drawer slides
Garmin Navigation system displayed through dash monitor
AM/FM Sirius ready with MP3 adapter and 6-disc CD player
Video security system
Tire pressure monitor system
15K lb towing hitch

Most Essex options are standard on the King Aire. Very few options--
most are things some people will want, but others may not. Examples:
Dishwasher in a drawer, washer/dryer, electric heat under tile, CB,
all-electric.

I think we'll see many Essex owners trade up to get the 600 HP, extra
cargo capacity, fuel tank, etc.

Dirk, now that this is on the street I will weigh in.

Newmar introduced the King Aire (TERRIBLE NAME) to directly meet the market they were losing to the Travel Supreme Select Limited.
Scott and I saw this coach in Nappanee when we toured the factory.

It's a very nice coach, except that it has laminate cabinets with curvy lines, which I personally did not like...

Bob and I got to see the first one being built back in early February. Looked very nice. As Bob told me, it is to compete w/a missing segment that Travel Supreme has b/w the Essex and LADB.

Not too many people liked the name though including Bob.

I agree that the name is not the best.

By laminate cabinets, do you mean a Formica type laminate?

Any idea of the MSRP?

Dirk, the MSRP will be in the same range as the TS Select Limited....in the mid to upper 600's.

Formica is a brand name....I am saying the cabinets are "Prevost-ish" with their radiused corners and slick fronts....At least in the coach we saw that will be the "picture coach" or the one in the brochure.

While we were there they were building all the picture coaches...

OOOOPS....Just went to Picasa and looked at my Nappanee pics and realized I was cautioned by Darla NOT to take pics of the King Aire...

I do have some pics of a brand new model, but there weren't any workers around it giving me dirty looks like there were around the King Aire...
