We just arrived home today with our new 2007 KSDP. Bought it from Freedom RV in Tucson. Ran an extensive PDI and think I found every flaw of which there were few. My question. The entry door seems to close hard in that you must slam it pretty good to get it to close tight. Then the door latch seems to rattle internally on rough roads. Also get some wind noise depending on wind direction compared to direction of ythe coach. The bolt that is mounted on the door frame that the latch catches is tight, but it moves up and down maybe a 1/4 to 3/8 inch. It does not seem to have any adjustment. Does all this sound normal?

Having same problem with my 05 KSDP 3910. Heading to factory and have that on the list.
Hopefully some one will answer what can be done.
Good Luck with your Kountry Star and welcome to iRV2.

My 2005 Dutch Star had the same problem. I took it to the plant and they removed the window and put the door in a machine and twisted it back straight. That fixed my problem.

My door would hit at the top and leave a 1/2 inch gap at the bottom when closed normally. We had to slam it hard to get it to close good all the way around and after they twisted the door it is equal all the way around.

I would only trust this "twisting" at the plant.

Welcome h moffitt to the Newmar forum and irv2.
Congrats on your new Newmar and many safe miles ahead.
Check your door frame and see if the door is chaffing the frame at top or bottom. The door maybe pushed up or down so the latch is not ingageing fully when door is closed.
Norm's problem may be yours I'm afraid.
The wind thru the awning arm was fix by some foam placed in arm cavity. Also weep slots for windows if taped with some black tape has cut down wind noise, leave one slote open.
Enjoy the forums and do post often.

If the door is not warped, go here to see the taping of the weep holes 007 talked about. I've been taping the weep holes for 30 years with no ill efects. The door window can have both weep holes taped, unless you have interior condensation, then remove the tape from the rear hole. All other window weep holes can be taped. Leave the rear most weep hole without tape, for rain drainage.

The up/down movement of the latch bolt is normal and required for frame flexing.

It is adjustable from the rear by removing interior trim.

Newmar seems to set the doors to slam pretty hard, really hard. I can't understand why. I am just not a slammer so I backed my door off by 3, yes 3 clicks on the geared adjuster (behind the interior trim as mentioned above kind of a kludge and difficult to fiddle with). That's a huge adjustment. I can now close my door with just a push of a couple fingers. Best of all, no additional wind noise either. I just can't stand to slam doors. The up/down wiggle of the main latch pin is normal and necessary.

Your slamming needs may vary...

Thanks to all for your responses. Learned a lot about my door which is totally different from my last RV door.
