Hi
We are new to this forum, although I have been following for some time.
We are about to finalise our order of a 2017 DS 4018, to replace our Itasca Meridian 36M, & we are wavering on a couple of the options.
1. The heated driver & passenger seats –we live in BC & often travel in colder weather, but generally if we are in the MH the heating is on if necessary.
2. The central vac unit –we have just bought a new regular vacuum for the MH- do people find this one efficient & worthwhile?
I have also noticed in the posts, that several people have ordered ‘special’ items- (particularly wiring for sea level sensors)- are there any other regularly ordered ‘special ‘ items that we should consider?
Would appreciate all of your advice
Thanks
Nick

I really like the heated seats and think they are worth the 600 bucks. We just picked up our coach last week and I've used them already. Of course I have them in every vehicle I own, even the jeep. The vacuum is really handy and works well and takes up very little room. The hose reaches every place in out 40 footer, even the steps. Can't speak for a longer coach.

Hi Nick, Welcome to the forum. I also live in BC, on the island. We have heated seats. I never use it at all although my wife has on occasion. The Dirt Devil central vac is okay, but not the best. My wife uses a portable battery powered unit with a good beater bar. The central has a very small head and the beater is nothing to write home about. Heated floors, though expensive, are GREAT! They will pretty well heat the entire coach in BC like weather.

The most important choice on your order for your new Dutch Star should be the chassis. Would suggest checking the differences between the FL and the Spartan. It's your choice when you order and with disc brakes on all axles plus higher GVW plus other advantages the Spartan chassis would put your DS on great base. What use to cost 8K$ more to get a Spartan, now there is no up charge for that Spartan.

One more suggestion on your ordering your Dutch Star would give Mr. Newmar Tom Lindstrom a call. Great customer experience and price at just the start on your phone call to Tom at 818-383-8895.

Thanks for all the good wishes & the opinions.
No one mentioned anything about the 'special' orders. Should I ask elsewhere about this.

We didn't order either of those. We picked up our new DSDP4018 on Wednesday.

Welcome!
