New MH christening incidents - what'd you do first?

[owner/guest incidents - excluding mfg issues in this thread]

Breaking in our DSDP - three weeks so far - here's the score:

1) DH broke glass w/red wine on tile floor (don't panic, very little wine wasted, but it did look like a murder scene) :-)
2) dog barfed by drivers floor
3) DH broke full jar of grape jam on tile floor due to infamous fridge content shifting ongoing experience. (Don't panic, not homemade jam, & no tiles broken or stained)
4) dog barfed on tile near sink
5) DW knocked tv remote into dog water bowl - seems DEAD :-(

Anyone else willing to share your day-to-day "oops" moments during coach break in period?

Your MH sounds fine. You may need a new DH, DW and dog.

This did not involve a motorhome but it was our second 5er. On our maiden voyage, pulled into our favorite campground and while the lovely Mrs was standing in back with a radio guiding me as I was backing into our space, I decided to pull forward to straighten it out and all the sudden everything stopped. I didn't hear anything, but I definately knew that I did not put on the brakes.
Put it in park, stepped out the truck to see I had hit a large low limb with front of my brand spanking new rv....Oh well.

Mrs walked around, looked at me, the camper, at me again...at the camper again and she proceeded to ... give me a hug. Boy I need it.

later that weekend, we met some fellow RV'ers who commented they were watching me park, saw what happened and were waiting for the fireworks. Praise the Lord He blessed me with an exceptional wife.

I did learn to look up a little more often.

Next time just replace the water bowl before the dog expires

I think that we all have had one or more oops moments. Glad that mot much wine was wasted. Supper glad that the dog is well. Why does he/she barf so much?

You,sir, have an exceptional DW. A hug was provided before requested. My wife was just as reinforcing when a few weeks after picking up our new coach that a dirt truck truck launched a rock into our windshield. The chip that created it was repairable...so all in all a great outcome.

You just need to learn how to roll with the flow. I love your attitude.

First trip in the Class C we had before we bought the the Bay Star, DH forgot to lower the batwing antenna and tore it off leaving the campground. We have checklists for the BS to minimize oops moments like that. Long checklists...

I use the grey foam pipe insulation noodles to block the space under the counter and sofa (and slides when they are in) so if spills happen I have time to get them before they run under the slide and become impossible to reach. Was very helpful when I dropped a tiny bottle of Cracker Barell pancake syrup and it shattered!

5th wheel oops

This didn't happen on an MH, but could have been very costly and painful, the first day I picked up my new 5th wheel I took it to the storage lot, I got side tracked ( really side tracked) and should have started over with my disconnect procedures, I got on the back of the truck and opened up my 5th wheel jaws, and that is when I realized i forgot to put my landing gear down, talk about a feeling you will never forget, I stood there and looked at it and said to myself, oh &#&&*#$ there goes 25K worth of damage, then the 5ver stopped, my tailgate was still up and the king pin got stuck between the tailgate and the 5th wheel hitch, never did hit the truck. lets just say that is one I will never do again.

So we picked up our 2015 DSDP last Nov.
We decided to take a quick 2 night stay in rural East Geirgia.
Pulled into a CG just south of Augusta of the beaten path.
We set up put out the awnings, fired up the grill, started a small campfire and just relaxed.
It was a nice local CG and we were obviously the biggest rig there as the CG was full of tents and pop ups.
A nice couple walked by and complimented our RV and said
"That thing is bigger than our house"
We looked at each other and said
We are very lucky!!!!!

This thing *IS* our house :-). Grateful also that all our hard work, savings, and yes luck over the years allows us this time to enjoy it :-)

Loving the camaraderie in everyone's shared incidents, thank you all!

...and syrup! Yikes!

Dog is sensitive and gets upset tummy from too many treats from DH :-) especially when combined with stress.

I'll try to remember that classy DW hug move - very sweet. DH and I also do not get angry with each other over these issues, although the person who causes the damage always feels bad...

Christened our new to us DS with 3 bottles of beer crashing onto the tile floor. Didn't realize that there was a refrigerator travel lock. Luckily I was able to pull off in to a bowling alley parking lot and clean up the mess. We now travel with the travel lock and bungee cords.

Never put a whole watermelon in the fridge no matter how well you think you have it secured.
