G'morning Newmar Owners:
I'm just trying to sort through current changes going on with Newmar Owners Forum's in order to most effectively stay in touch with, and contribute to, dialog and info exchange between us Newmar owners.
Over the past few years I've come to view the Newmar Owners Forum here under the Owner's Corner of the iRV2 site as the best place to stay in touch with, and get the best info regarding Newmar issues, and though we've belonged to NKK (Newmar Kountry Klub) I never found using the NKK Yahoo site to be at all convenient to access or user friendly.
Presently it appears that Newmar Owners are implementing a new Newmar Owners Forum. Does anyone know whether this new forum is to replace that Yahoo site? Is that new forum targeted primarily for NKK members? Also, is there any connection between this iRV2 Newmar Owners Forum and that new Newmar Owners Forum being introduced?
I have read at least one comment where the poster was kind of lamenting the fact that having more than a single "go to" forum for Newmar Owners to access rig specific answers to questions about Newmar rigs, would dilute the effectiveness.
Now, it's just me, but I tend to gravitate to the position that a single, Newmar Owners Forum would be exceedingly more convenient, would be a much stronger forum, and would be more directly valuable to all Newmar owners than having a number of Newmar Owners Forums.
AT THE VERY LEAST, I hope this great iRV2 Newmar Forum and that new Newmar Owners Forum that's being implemented don't end up having to compete....sure would be nice if there were a way to connect the two forums. It would REALLY be nice if one didn't have to type in double posts every time ya wanted to ask a question of other Newmar owners.
Steve

As the #1 site, we don't have to compete.
The new site you are referring to is in no way associated with iRV2.
The new site is Deen's old site being revamped.

Great post Steve4, and I agree. The more "Owner type forums" the more diluted it would be. This is the only one I use. Many times people will say "Go to Yahoo, they probably have something about that issue" , but I can't be bothered. How many forums can you really keep up with. I track 2 only and this is the only one of the two that has a Newmar specific forum.

If I'm not mistaken the Yahoo forum was so poorly designed that I quit trying to access it. I am glad I found this iRV forum and dropped interest in all the others.
Where is this "new" forum being discussed or mentioned?
I just did a Google search for Newmar owner forums and found the on developed by Deen. There really isnt any activitiy on it yet. I wonder why he wants to start another one. Let's hope it doesnt get much play and goes away (sorry Deen). As stated, we dont need to have multiple spot to go to get good information.

It's being discussed in the newmar-dp-owners yahoo groups list. The website is Newmar Owners Forum • Index page

I registered with newmarowners.com in January '10. I received an automated reply on 1/10/10 stating my account would remain inactive until approved by an administrator...................I'm still waiting.
I'm glad I found the Newmar Forum here, thanks to all that contribute.

This forum is great, have found no reason to look elsewhere, tried Yahoo a few years back and it seemed to be difficult to access.

I found the Yahoo site cumbersome, as did many, hence the revamping by it's owner (Deen). Unlike others who have made mention of the lack of necessity of multiple Newmar sites, I find it very refreshing to listen/read varying points of view. I also spend about 5 minutes on each site, and have the time. If the site is well designed and well monitored it will succeed. If participants may ramble, bud in, get off track, or make comments just to get their "count" up, then it will not. Good luck Deen!
