Hi all. New member here. DW and I toured Newmar factory last week, came home and placed our order for a 2010 Canyon Star - due in 8 weeks. Currently own Winnebago and am impressed with Newmar quality in comparison to Winnies. Newmar was not too busy as they were getting ready for a holiday shutdown but saw several new models in progress. Sales rep, Dave Garl, said 2010 models exactly same as 2009 except some new material options/colors. We are anxious to get our new coach, probably try to arrange to go down when it's being built.

Way to go! Wecome here on this super site.
We have our 2008 BAY STAR 2901 for close to 2 years and are very happy. Everything works and the workmanship is tops. Can't wait to get our Fulltimer RV (2007 Kountry Star 3910) when the house is SOLD.
RVgreetings

Welcome to the site and Newmar. Expect those startup problems as it happens to all of us. I would suggest that you find as much information as possible on this and other sites regarding a thorough Pre Delivery Inspection (PDI). Plan on spending hours and don't be rushed...if a site is available use it, drive the coach, return, use all the components. If possible spend a few days near the dealership. Its summertime so if no rain use a hose to check out the windshield wipers. Run all your appliances on ac, dc, and propane. This is by no means a complete list but a start up to get the thinking going.
BEST OF LUCK you will love your NEWMAR I do!!

Thanks to all for the welcome and comments. Excited to become a Newmar owner. We have owned a Winnebago coach for four years and love the traveling experience.
Ronnie - Have been thru the drill on new coach, know what you mean. We were extremely lucky with the Winnie, never had a problem. Hope that holds true for our new one.

DandS: Welcome aboard! We took delivery on a new 2008 Canyon Star 3410 last March and have enjoyed it ever since.

We, too had the usual problems with it, most were found and addressed during the PDI. All items were coach-related, no chassis-related problems. I spent 3 days at the dealer getting things fixed (this was good as I had expected it to take longer) and we've had it in the shop three times since then whittling down the problems, all under warranty. The last warranty service was this March and they took care of all the remaining items.

PM me if you want a list of what we found, there was nothing really big, just a lot of small things.

Good luck, and congrats on your new rig!

Congrats on ordering your new Newmar! You're an experienced motorhome owner, so I'm sure you'll know what to check with the added help of the PDI lists.

Are you going to take delivery at the factory or the dealership?
