New to the Family

After months of research and factory visits (including hours reading posts on this forum), we have placed an order for a 2019 Dutch Star 4326. We will be taking delivery next May (by our choice). It was a big decision with a lot of options. We seriously considered Entegra but in the end, the Newmar was the better choice for us.

I wanted to comment to all of you how valuable your posts have been as we were looking to make a decision. Lots of things brought up that I hadn't considered. Dutch Star Don's post and resulting comments about the options was very valuable. An example is that I originally was not planning on the heated floor but after reading your comments, I added that option. i look forward to adding my comments to posts that will help others in their journey.

Now I wait for the next 7 months

Dutch Star is Newmar's number 1 selling motor home and you are going to have one. As a 21 year Newmar owner and a current 18 London Aire happy camper welcome to Newmar family and irv2.

SpartTom, I could not agree more!
We have searched and researched for the past 4 years and thanks to
all the help on this forum, placed an order last week for a DS 4018.
Ours will be a March delivery and can’t get here soon enough!
Everyone’s excellent advise, experience and patience has been
terrific.
It is a great relief to know that others that can help, when things don’t go as planned.
Thank you all!

an early welcome to the 4326 club ! it is a great floorplan...i went from a tiffin phaeton 40QKH (bunk model) to it.....love the extra bath and extra room....deliberated long and hard on the 4310, but with just 2 kids, we didn't feel the extra shower was needed, and we wanted the extra storage space and king size bed...both are great, though...

one thing often overlooked, but i have found to be quite a big benefit, is not having the fridge on a slide....it really makes a difference...stuff just does not move in it much when underway...even on rough roads....also, all that weight is not on the FWS....that has to make a difference...

if you look at the 4326, the 4310, (and the 4311), they are the only DS floorplans to not have the fridge on a slide....most have the fridge on the FWS....the 4311 doesn't have a FWS, anyways.....the FWS's on those two floorsplans are the lightest load carrying FWS's....that has to help in long term wear and reliability....i know the FWS is designed to carry alot of weight and be ok (i think like 2K pounds, IIRC), but less weight is less stress, period...especially going down the road, and a bumpy road at times, at that...

and when you load up a fridge, it adds up weight pretty darn quick....the 4363 has many features that i love....i think as a floorplan is really cool...but having the fridge AND the kitchen on the FWS, to me, would be a concern...hoping no one has issues with it, but am interested to hear reports on it....

heated floors, without question a must have...

one thing that i would recommend, that we did not do, as i didn't know about it, was making the cabinets over the dinette deeper...if you can do it, do it...i wish i did...they are really shallow in the stock configuration....maybe you aleady specialed that in.....just my 2 cents...

also, with dogs (and perhaps kids, if you have them), the king aire matte finish floors are a must...they just don't show the dirt, dog hair, or water spots like a glossy floor...i will never have a high gloss floor again....very much worth the extra cost....but of course, your taste has to like them....

and, i am guessing, perhaps, by your handle, you opted for the spartan chassis ???

i waited 4 months for my order.....hate to say it, but 7 months will be hell !!!

congrats again....

Hi and welcome to the Newmar family. The wait time will go by faster than you think. Then you will have many happy memories waiting to be made.

Willipaul - thanks for the suggestions. I'll look into the cabinets. Based on other comments we were concerned about the slick floors so we did go with the matte floors but from the MA. And as you guessed, the Spartan chassis.
