Problems Update

It's not that difficult. I took the toilet apart, replaced all the seals. That was five years ago, and it's been working perfectly ever since.

And that is exactly what I will do. I will also replace the "ball" at the same time. Then I will know what is what and can do the yearly maintenance.

As to the cable, it is definitely a broken cable. I bypassed it by running a cable through the bay to an external TV connection. I think I will call that fixed. Oh, and my cable works fine with the antenna amp and box on. They are the same box. It also works without the box on so long as cable was last selected. The previous owner installed a truly great Digital antenna and usually we use that but here our internet is also on the cable so I wanted it fixed. In Melbourne Fl. we got over 40 channels on antenna. Here only 8.

The steps. Ah the steps. As I said originally they seemed exceptionally loose. I crawled under to do a better inspection and shook the drive unit. It fell off in my hands with only the connecting pin holding it. All four bolts had broken. I went to Ace, got new bolts, removed the broken ends, and all is well. I will keep an eye on this as something had to cause such a failure. Total cost to repair, a little over $8.

So far as I am concerned this thread is closed. I will leave it for one more day for any final comments.

One last thing. I am not new to IRV2. We had a National Tradewinds before the DS and I spent many hours working on it and looking to people like you for advice. Almost always came through. Thank you for your replies.

Dutch Star

Welcome. We have a 2004 Dutch Star 41' Model 4025, and we like it very much. On the issue of the toilet, frankly, I would just replace the toilet. I have done mine twice over the years. It is easy. We fulltimed in the coach two years, then went into a house and traveled 6 months a year. We're now selling the house to go fulltiming again. I can't wait ! Good luck. If I can be of any service, just advise.

I have a 1999 DS and my steps had gotten very loose. I ended up replacing GEAR LINKAGE WITH "B" This part, along with the motor, and the whold deal really tightened up and operated like a brand new one.

Oh, and welcome to the Forum!
