Forgot to mention this after my factory tour 3 weeks ago. Newmar is introducing a new type of entry step for 2008. I think it was just on the high lines but, Bob may remember if it made it on the Dutch Star too. Also, this is new to Newmar but, can't say it isn't already on another manufacturer's product.
When closed all you can see is a single rectangle cutout the size of step that recesses into the body. Of course it is painted to match the body.
When the steps open, that rectangle flips down 90 degrees and then the step pushes out. The result is; First a very solid step. Second, there is no scuffing from toes as the painted portion is now facing the ground. Third, it really looks cool.

It sounds like a great system. The Kwikee steps now in use do the job but they sure aren't perfect. They could stand to be more solid and the scuffing that you mentioned is always a problem.

That will be interesting to see, Scott, as the '07 Essex had a new design since the '06. It's a drawer like action. Only design hitch with it is a ridge on the side that can cause you to stumble should you not exit straight out of the coach doorway.

Peter, I can't tell you the number of times I nearly broke my neck on that dumb little ledge...It serves a purpose I am sure, but it's gonna get someone hurt!
The good news is the steps on my new buggy are bulletproof, although they're a lot SLOWER to deploy....A NEW hazard!!

Hi! Was that before or after cocktail hour?? Sounds like they are going to use the steps that are on the LADP. Paul

Does anybody know why they call the LA a "bus" instead of a "pusher"?

I never noticed that before. The LADP is a LADB! When did that happen or was it always that way?

According to all the literature I've seen,it has always been that way...
I'm guessing just another "attempt" at model separation...
