Hey All, New here. Picking up our 2011 (made early 2010) Ventana 3971 SE the 31st on our way to Canada. Will be trading off our Bay Star. This will be the first DP i have ever driven and only the second MH ever driven with the Bay Star being the first. Loved it so much we traded it in for the Ventana. Just trying to learn all I can before we pick it up.

I was on the Com Net site and realized i was incorrect? We have a VTDP so much better than the three letter VDP, now i am with the big boys. Seriously, we are new to any kind of camper or motorhome. We looked at serveral brands ( not as many or as long as some would say i should have) and kind of fellminto the Newmar brand through an aquaintance. For those who do not know, we bought a brand new BayStar June 1, 2011, loved it so much but immediatley knew i wanted to upgrade to a diesel. I also knew that if i did not do it now, i would never do it. So, August19, 2011 we picked up the Ventana a 2011 model 3971SE. Beautiful in every way.

Now, we wont drive it a ton, but i know when we do drive it, it will be the most benautiful, smooth, quiet ride with plenty of room for us. I can tell all the newbies out there that are reading this, they say something like "buy your third or last coach first", they are right Nd if you can swing it and make it work, do it. You wont regret it. Newmar has made beleivers out of us. Thae quality is just plain far superior than others that we were in. And it is the little things if you know what i mean.

Dave

Imanothernewbie. Am also very impressed with the Ventana coaches. Can anyone tell me what kind of discounts one could reasonably expect when buying a new Ventana? I have read 20-30% might be reasonable....not sure if this would apply to the Ventana.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanx!

It has been nine years since I bought ours but:

You are well in the ballpark there, 25% IMHO is the throw away discount anything more is a really nice deal----it is a buyers market---make a low offer and do not be afraid to walk away----they will call you back almost guaranteed. Lots of variables if the Ventana is their best seller then they will stiffin----but again it does not hurt to make a low offer----believe me even if they act like it they are not offended.

That would fall in line with what i got. I wanted more but it was my decision to accept their offer as i like to get things done and move on to other things. We just love ours with the bath and a half floor plan. Wow!

Good luck and enjoy.
