Newbie Questions 2019 Dutch Star

Newbie to Newmar here. Just spent the first night in our new 2019 Dutch Star 4018. Everything (so far) appears to work right except that the autolevel does not seem to be dumping air. Is there something I need to do or is this a defect. Our level, even on a level site is so high the stairs are a pain to get up.

Also, where is the park cable connection? I though I was briefed on it, but cannot find the connection. I looked all over the basement, particularly the Water and electrical connection compartments, but did not see it. Probably right in front of my nose somewhere. Sort of embarrassing to have to ask such a silly question.

Hello. Congrats on the new coach!

It should automatically dump the bags first, then deploy the jacks when you press auto level.

Did you try to manually dump the suspension and then auto level or manually level?

Depending on the terrain, sometimes even our front wheels are off the ground and the steps will be high (and thats WITH the bags having dumped air). If the ground is not level, that's just the way it goes...but as I said that's even with the bags dumped.

As far as the cable hookup, we hardly ever use it. However, I'm pretty sure though in our LA, it's in the electric bay on the left wall (we use sat tv almost always, but I'm pretty sure thats where ours is). Doesn't mean thats where it will be in your DS, but just trying to help.

Good luck and congrats again on the coach! Many happy miles to you!

On the 2017 Dutch Star the park cable connection is in the electrical compartment in a box that looks like an outdoor outlet box.

You can tell if the air is dumped by looking at the top of the tires with relation to the body. If the air is dumped the top of the tires will be higher than the wheel well and not completely visible. If the suspension is on air you will see a gap above the tire with relation to the body. If the jacks are deployed this will not be the case.

Thanks, I found it. Hiding behind a spring closed door on what looks like an outlet box, just as you say. DW very happy.

Solved the cable connection, but the auto level is a real issue. Parked perfectly level according to my trusty manual carpenters level. Put out the slides. Still level. Hit the auto level to put down the jacks. Heard some air dump. Jacks went down. Jacks raised the forward part of the coach. Then the jacks stop with “excess slope” warning. Coach is now about 2 degrees out of level. Appears that a sensor is out of adjustment. Ideas? Otherwise back to the dealer or wait until I have time for a Nappanee trip next spring.
