You will find a bundle of wires tucked up alongside the steering column. They will probably be folded back and taped or Zip-tied together. Look on the left side of the column about halfway up. There are several size wires in the bundle; approx. #14 through #18.

That's exactly where I found mine too.

You should find a bundle like this connected behind the steering linkage somwhere.
This controller would be a breeze to install and add the co trol to your armrest console.

Newmar 7 pin connector
Charlie, thanks and help me understand. Is that a picture of the pigtail bundle that leads to the 7 pin connector? I was looking for a blue wire. Also tried to search for some old threads on the hook up but couldn’t find them.
Won’t need the link controller because I’m installing an LED on the dash and just need a brake signal from the toad.

If you can't find that pigtail above, here's one on ebay:

I think there is a misunderstanding. The 2 wires have nothing to do with the 7-pin connector. They run from the bundle, as previously mentioned, by the steering wheel to somewhere close to the 7-pin connector. If you look closely near that connector you should find the 2 wires hanging there.

It is tied into the 7-pin connector. The leads are labeled. Some go to the connector...some supply power and braking signal to the controller. The lines that are output from the controller will go to the 7-pin connector.
The pigtail I photographed has a red/white wire that is the signal to the trailer brake. Normal convention...that wire would be blue. It is the lead which goes to the brake pin of the 7-pin connector...

Newmar 7 pin connector
Thanks guys. It was right there on the left side of the steering column but the leads were tucked behind the 6 pin socket to the left of the parking brake.
I was off base looking for a blue wire on the right side of the column.
Charlie, thanks for the picture and the red/white color code.

Happy i could help.
You can see by the photo...a I haven’t actually connected mine to anything yet. So, I hope the legend is correct on the pigtail.
You should have a nice LED Brake reporting in no time...

On our 2014 Ventana LE, there was a blue wire in the set. Whatever the wire color, it sure is nice not to have to pull a wire from the back of the coach to the front.

Perfect post.....I run the same indicator on my dash, from my truck brakes. I have the dash light, hot lead and truck wired.....I just need to attach the brake controller wires to the dash light.

Here's a link to the thread where I did the dash LED toad brake indicator on our then-new MADP.
