Did Newmar OEM with Aluminum roofs on their Class A's as an option about 2002.

Was this a fact or could have been a filed replacement?

Wouldn't they be extremely loud in rainstorms?

Thanks in advance.

AFAIK, Newmar has used rubber roofs, Brite Tek, or fiberglass. I don't recall them using aluminum.

They did or still use aluminum for curved transition from the sidewall to the roof.

Never recalled Newmar with option for aluminum roof in your time period, had a aluminum roof back in 80's different MFG and class C's had them also.
All Newmars I had had a rubber roof 98-03 and fiberglass as option.
The metal roof didn't sound to bad in rain but hail stones were something else.

While looking for my DS, I did look at a 1998 DSDP that had a metal, assuming aluminum roof. This was 6 years ago and I do not know if it was standard, a special order or a repair at a later date.
