In the N.E. area we have no Newmar dealers left, they have removed all Newmar inventory and may have only some used Newmars left.
I have been going through the Dealerships through out the U.S.A. on our dealer list and 7 have been removed from our Newmar fix topic thread.
Most Dealerships in the South and Midwest are selling 08's-09's but no new coach's as yet, the bigger dealers have 2010 's on their lots.
The Newmar's may come back to the N.E. but its going to take awhile according to some of the dealer statements on their Web sites.
Bank financing is a big problem for N.E. dealers.

It's the economy....and there is no real relief in sight. These RV manufacturers are not being realistic. They are raising the prices of their units, yes, there are discounts but the prices are still out of sight. Housing is down and yet MHs continue to go up. I don't see the industry coming back for a very very long time like it was before this economy collapse.

Our local west-mich. Newmar dealer has one 2010 model on his lot but it's another brand he sells, a lot of 09's and a few 08's. This dealer in normal times would have the full line-up of new coaches. On the plus side, he has moved some this summer.

Last week the Newmar suits were in Canada looking for new dealers.

They may have already been to the NE or I'll bet they'll get up that way soon.

No dealers = no sales.

Dirk - See you are still in Nappanee. Maybe you should change your handle to Route 6.

Sorry about going off-topic.

Part of the problem is the dealer owns the inventory. With banks holding tight credit it becomes difficult to floor plan a full line up of coaches. 2 dealers in Texas have dropped Newmar (Ron Hoover - Boerne,TX & Voigt RV - Fort Worth, TX).

There is in fact one Newmar dealer left in New England. Dave's RV in Danbury,CT. Having said that, he doesn't have any 2010 models either but at least a couple of '08 or an '09. He has limited facilities for any heavy repairs but he can take care of just about any item involving the coach portion of a unit as well as an RV parts store. Just thought I'd pass it along.

The problem of no Newmar dealers in the NE was the subject of concern at the last Rally I attended 2 weeks ago.
The problem with Dave's is if you didn't buy from him he doesn't want to service your rig.
The outcome was the Region 7 Director, CT State Director and the President of the Nutmeggers were going to try an set up a meeting with the Daves.
By being a member of the Newmar Kountry Klub you give more power to these people when they meet with dealers
Hi Dave we represent 200 Newmar owners or it could be we represent 85% of Newmar owners in the NE and NJ/NY area.

My Newmar dealer has seen an uptick in sales...he tied it to the 9,000 Dow. Says it's going to be tough til Spring. Bank has tightened amount and cost of floor plan. We haven't really seen the whole banking situation improve (other than the ones the Gov't helped out). Bank failures continue to occur and will continue for the near term. But then...we have free health care to look forward to!

Read & Learn is right. Dave's has always had the attitude that if you didn't buy it here we can't help you. He's a tough nut to crack. He's emphatic about not having anything to do with the NKK.
Read & Learn, I'm leaving it up to Ralph to make the next contact. I'm talked out with Dave with regard to the NKK.

In regards to a Newmar dealer in the New England area. Isn't Mountain Road RV in Sabattus, ME still selling Newmar products? I bought three coaches from them, over the years, and they are a "Great" dealership to do business with.......

We have been there also his news letter is one of them I read and all new stock has been removed and they are only selling used until things improve.
They were having problems with the banks financing the high end coach's.
There a good shop and they are on the wait as allot of other dealers are hoping to survive through this economy.

Mountain Road RV

It's too bad about the way Mountain Road had to cut back on their business model. At least they are still open for service. They are one of the "BEST" dealers I've ever done business with.

I believe Mountain Road RV is not selling Newmar anymore either. Might still be there, but not selling. There's Bob's camper in Hancock, MA, but I usually go to Wilkins RV in Bath, NY when I need something.
