Newmar Drivers Compartment Side Window Noise
We have a 2018 Dutch Star. We have been able to eliminate most of noise and rattles that occur when traveling except one. The one we are struggling with is the noise that comes from the drivers compartment side windows. It looks like the windows are set into the window frame with some type of foam material and as the motor home travels and flexes down the road, the foam material rubs up against the window and causes a squeaking noise. Has anyone found a way to eliminate that noise?

Following. Have the same issue. I think the frame of the window fits too tightly in the opening. I’m thinking of taking the inside frame off and sanding any shiny spots with a dremel tool.

When I removed the A pillar cover to run wires to cabinet above I saw white squeaky foam there also.

Same issue here. Mine was more of a creeking noise than a rattle and worse when it was warm on that side from the sun. Created a foam seal for the frame, put extra screws into the window frame. Shot liquid insulation into the cavity and still had noise.
Turned out to be an adjustment to the FW slide. It was making the noise, but sounded like it was coming from the window. If your model has the FW slide behind the driver, it might be your issue.

What I have considered is a wind deflector like used for cars. I have not been able to locate a properly shaped one. It seems like maybe one made for semi trucks may be shaped properly.

I had same noise on my 2016 DS. it was the vertical support attached to the “chain” , that moves the full wall slide. The vertical support moved fore and aft causing the noise. I placed a piece of foam on each side and viola noise gone!

I finally got rid of most my noise from the window! After taping the outside of the window so it couldn’t fallout, I removed the inside frame. It was tight in the opening. Most of my problem was the upper right corner. It was very tight, and constantly rubbing. You could see black marks on the wood. I used my dremel tool and sanded the corner out. I also sanded other areas that were tight. I now only have occasional noise when the sun is on the window and it is warm outside. I now hear other. Jose’s I never heard before! But the coach is MUCH quieter than before.

Just finished a week at Nappanee and my window noise was one of my complaints. The tech removed the seat and all the trim around the window. He then took the window out. He told me he found some of the window metal parts loose and causing the noise. He secured them and applied foam to stop the rattles. I have not left Nappanee yet so I don't know if it is fixed yet.
