Hi! We are getting factory Delivery of our coach on Monday. What should our expectations be of factory PDI? Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated. Jill & Paul

Take lots of notes. The systems are complex. Keep your own punch list (just like with a new house). Compare your list to the technician's list at the end of the day.

If you get Buddy or Lamar for your PDI tech, say Hi for us!

Hi Paul, I don't know how long they offer now, but when I bought mine it was 5 days. I only stayed 2 1/2 days, I wish I had the time to stay longer. So, stay as long as possible. There is lots to go through.
Also while you are there, go out behind the building. Usually there are several new chassis' waiting for production. This will give you a great chance to look at a K-3 chassis to see where all the components are. That is, providing there is a K-3 there.

I would suggest a road test of several hours to check out the drive train, handling, etc. before signing off and leaving the factory.

I would take 3 days, leave on road test for 2-3 weeks and return for the final 2 days. By far the most issues are found in the first month of traveling and not found during PDI.

Make sure everything fits!

They told us our PDI would be 'as long as you need'. I know Buddy must of thought it was going to be a lloonnngg week when we told him the King Aire was our first RV, but unlike me, Joe picks up the tech stuff very fast, most of the time.

Although I have been rv'ing since '66, I still find the questions that arise are the ones which have NOT been asked or explained. As an example; what happens if: the heat doesn't work when all the settings are correct; the air doesn't go back into the bags after the proper button has been pushed; the generator won't start; the slide won't go in/out, etc. But, I must add, in Newmar's defense, they have the best phone customer service in the industry (Carl/Jeff).

Perhaps a little mis-leading soricobob. Carl and Jeff are "High Line" service. Other members with Luxury coaches or 5th wheel units other than '07 and up MADP, Essex, KGDB and LADB, have other great contacts.

Sorry, I though Jetsmania was getting a high line rig (King Aire), and that was the subject of this thread.

Yes, it is the subject of the poster, however many owners read this. Your statement "But, I must add, in Newmar's defense, they have the best phone customer service in the industry (Carl/Jeff)." may be mis-leading, that's all I was saying.

Hi Paul

When are those 'Jet's starting the season???

Not that I am really seasoned at this BUT having recieved a couple of boats autos etc. 0ver the years!!!

I like Joes "as long as it takes"

But

Dave's idea of 3 days at Newmar and 2 weeks camping then back at Newmar for whatever it takes!!!!!

Might be Better!!!!

Hi! Thanks for all the suggestions. We will try them all. Hopefully we don't have to stop back in 2 weeks. I am sure stuff will pop up though.

Doc! Just as a heads up, Jeff came from the non High line call center. He took great care of us when we had the '06 DSDP. Hopefully the non high line call center rivals the High Line. Paul
